Love and War: Act I Complete!

Love and War: Act I is now finally complete!

Ten months after the original release, Act I is finally at 100%. All of the old picture cutscenes have been replaced, and a few new ones have been added, too. Some minor bugs have been fixed, a few battles have been tweaked for difficulty, and there's also a new intro available for your perusal, featuring new artwork from King-sama! Though I have no hard numbers to back this up, I think Act I may have the most cutscene artwork of any RM RPG. This is really thanks to the efforts of Reirei18 and King-sama, but I can't help but feel proud of this (potentially inaccurate!) fact. :)





Furthermore, after many months of toil and trouble, revision and editing, I present to you the official trailer for Act I! This trailer would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of LAW friend X-Calibar, who essentially turned my notes into the video you see before you. Many, many thanks, X-Calibar! Thanks must also go to King-sama, who provides more of his patented fabulous artwork. Wonderful work, King!

In any case I hope you enjoy, and I look forward to receiving any and all feedback. This one's for you, LAWyers and LAWyettes! :D




And if this doesn't convince Liberty to do a Let's Play, nothing will! ... *weeps*

Congrats on getting this finally done! I'll definitely playing this for nth time as any good LAWyer would. Hopefully, Act II won't take as longgg to see the light (crosses fingers)... Finally good luck on getting your LP (if somebody doesn't eventually step up, maybe I will).

edchuy: Heh, bit of an inside joke there. A while back Liberty did a few "Let's Try" videos for Act I that were super helpful. Of course a Let's Play from her would be awesome, but she's definitely already done her part to make LAW a better game. :)

Oh, I knew something was afoot. BTW, I got a chance to take a look at the trailer and really liked it. For some reason I reminded me of the intros to some Japanese animated TV series I used to watch when I was a child (Candy Candy, being among them). The most rewarding part for me was seeing the Council.

Glad you enjoyed the trailer! It went through a lot of revisions and all, but I think it was worth it in the end. I'm not familiar with Candy Candy, though indeed, it was intended to give off an "anime vibe", I reckon. :) As for the Council, it is neat to see them - although the council picture actually depicts the "first council", from centuries ago, and not the current Executive Council. Still, some of them probably do resemble their counterparts to some degree!

Its been so long since I first came across Love and War... Still one of my favorites today...

PS I just loaded up the game anew. Right away I was surprised at the
Show

In-game opening! Wow, that was unexpected... and nice! :D

I'm going to have to sit down and experience Love & War once more I see...
Now, about that sequel.... ;D
