Peggy's Puzzling Poltergeists

This is a short puzzle game made for a jam event from outside of RMN. As the story goes, you need to help bring your ghost friend back into his temple while avoiding other poltergeists who are bullying him.

The main gameplay consists of the classic style of pushing some rocks in an area to clear a path and reach the exit, with the added twist of having a few ghosts wandering around that chase you if you get too close to them. This adds a slight challenge as you need to move and react to the ghosts, while at the same time thinking about how to push the rocks. It's a little different from what you'd normally expect, by combining thinking and action elements, so it can be hard at first but it's also what makes it a bit for fun. It would've nice though if the ghosts just sent you back a room, rather than give a straight game over. Also, the push by touch makes it easy to push by accident while moving around.

There's around 10 screens of rock pushing to do, and some have the added the mechanic of stepping on a button to toggle a peg that blocks your rock pushing path. That's pretty much all there is, as far as game mechanics go, so there's not too much variety here. Also, the left and right sides of the temples are basically just the same puzzles repeated. The various rock positions and paths, along with having to avoid the ghost, does make for a decent challenge that requires some thinking to get through.

The custom drawn graphics in this game look kinda cute, and the custom music was also very pleasant and befitting for thinking. The characters and environment had a cute aesthetic to them, and the various statues and faces around the temple was a nice touch as well.

Overall, this is a decent rock pushing puzzle game with some added action elements. The custom assets are neat and the challenge was fair, although it would have been nice if there was more variety and creativity in the levels. It was a nice short game to spend around 15 minutes on.
