Did you play DID? Because I did!

Good day, players!
Did is a game made by DeИ!eLLa and translated by Goddiga from japanese, like many other translated japanese games I played before it was made using Wolf RPG Editor (like the Three Forbidden Books EINS, or the Purgatory series).

The story is about Ferrino, a little girl that has a best friend, a cute young oman called Aym, that lives inside... a mirror in her house! Oh yes!
But this is not all! Aym knows that Ferrigno's mother and big brother (that we will never see during the game) will be away for some days, and since the little girl will be all alone, she asks her to find three treasures that are hidden in the house. Ferrigno will clearly happily help her best friend, but this task won't be so easy...

The gameplay? Each of the three days (after the introduction) we start the game inside Ferrino's bedroom, where we can save the game and review the rules, because even if the house is not that big we have really limited chances to interact with object and search. It's also possible to ask for info to Aym, but this will increase the search count too. So despite the lack of a time limit it won't be easy, at all, especially when you will learn that reading the title of a book AND then reading the book itself count as two searches!

I WON! I solved the puzzle! Hehehehe! Aym will be really happy now!

The game includes exploration, a puzzle and different endings depending on how well you performed, I admit that it's probably impossible to get the best ending on the first try... well, that's what I guess since my first one was an... ok result, not too bad, but still not the best of the outcomes possible. Clearly finishing the game at least once will reveal the story about Aym, the mysterious girl that lives in the mirror, but I'll let you discove this by yourself of course!

Visually the game is really well made, I guess that most assets, if not all, are custom, at least I did not remember them but I've not played lots games made with Wolf RPG Editor. I especially liked the two protagonists' (and only characters!) portraits, and the few slides that really enhance the cute story. Unfortunately concerning the sounds it's not the same thing: while I liked the music, I found the sound effects of the dialogues (different for Ferrino and Aym) quite loud and very annoying. Sigh, pity.
For the rest there is not much else to say, this is a short game, with some exploration and some puzzles, that's it!

Final Verdict
Did is a pretty interesting and challenging game, still short and cute. A playtrough won't take you more than 10-12 minutes (well 5 minutes each day would be even too much, I guess!) but I'm pretty sure that every player will play it at least two or three times to see some different endings, even if there won't be a lot of difference aside for some dialogues and a slide for the best ending.
The graphics are clearly the best aspects of the game, while the gameplay... well it's not exactly that I'm fond of puzzle games, but I'm sure that some players will like this kind of challenges, so even if this is not a game for everyone, it's also not a bad game at all. Who knows? You can say your opinion but only if you did play DID before!
