Hello to the few that will read this :)
I registered on RMN primarily for the game I am currently making, but I might attempt review some games in the near future.
Hope to you see you around.

Any advice for a beginner of music making?
Thanks everyone for your advice and tips, it's very much appreciated :D, is there any software that can be used for sequencing? I've heard of audacity as being good audio software but I wasn't sure if it could be used for looping or sequencing. Also I was thinking of buying a MIDI plug at some point to use instead of the dictaphone I am currently using to record my music. Is there any MIDI software (preferably open source and relatively easy to use) that people recommend?
Thanks again :)
Thanks again :)
Any advice for a beginner of music making?
Thank you all for reading and for getting back :D and apologies for taking a while to respond. Thank you also for those links Zachary (although a couple didn't work for me), I'll take a kook at the first one, it seems interesting. One quick question I had was about looping and how it is done and whether it needed any particular software or know how? Cheers :)
Any advice for a beginner of music making?
Hello,
To give a bit of background, I have attempted to make a game based on a concept I created roughly a year ago. I found that whilst I enjoyed conceptualising, sketching out ideas and making music, I found the resource making to eventually feel like a chore.
From this I acknowledged that it would probably be better if I pursued the enjoyable aspects more including music making.
However I'm at quite a low level in terms of ability at the moment, I don't have any grades and I can't read sheet music (although I plan to just make my own anyway which is what I have been doing up until this point). I was just wandering if anyone had any particular advice as to where to start as I would ultimately like to try making some music for a game at some point.
Thanks for reading

General Help for what to do and what medium to use
Hello everyone on RMN ,I have started making a game and have outlined most of what I want to include and I even I started making resources (sprites, roughly making some simple music and a map.) The tool I'm currently using is RPG Maker XP as I have no scripting knowledge.
The project came to somewhat of halt partly due to many things happening outside of game creating, but also in part due to the fact whilst I do occasionally like making digital art, I didn't enjoy the spriting and the map-making as much as other things such as developing the lore, composing the music and doodling the concept art.
What I want from what I ever I make in the end is a combination of these elements and for the person to find out the lore by exploring the world and by examining the surroundings. I want the person experiencing it to have to search for clues in the environment and piece things together for themselves. I did intend for some combat as well.
I will elaborate more on specifics if need be as I understand I'm being a bit vague at the moment but in summary my main issue what other potential mediums and/or engines could I use?
I have contemplated the other possibility of forming a team to make it but I'm sure as of yet and I will make a separate post if I intend to recruit anyone.

Hello
Thanks for the warm welcome guys :D As for contributing I can't guarantee any reviews or games anytime soon (I think the game will be quite a long project), but if there other ways of contributing I'll interested in at least having a look :).

Steel Knights
This looks like a very interesting game, but unfortunately I can't seem to start it, I manage to get the main menu but I can't seem to get any further as I can't seem to select anything? is there something in particular you have to do first?
