CloseWhen did this happen? I thought you have to make a donation and log-in for them to disappear off the front page. Well, there’s still the one at the top and the bottom and underneath the Latest Blog section, but, hey, I’ll take it! Those stupid ads were making my browser go nuts some of the time.

GAO ads (who provided that service) is closing up shop. So I removed those ads (which were used mainly to provide a backup if Google AdSense's overbearing restrictive policy on "adult content" triggered and caused RMN's adsense account to be suspended). So now those are gone.
But you shouldn't have seen the ads on the frontpage if you were logged in. Not even just a donor, but logged in at all - you shouldn't see them. Those big side of frontpage ads were only for non-members.
Anywho, coincidentally enough, a day after GAO closes down, I got a Warning for Adult Content from Google Adsense. Fuck those guys and their puritan view of the world.

Okay, so that’s the story behind it… I’m glad that they’re gone now because I was getting a bit tired of seeing all those stupid Bleach ads with all those big breasted anime ladies that slowed my browser down all the time. I really should just leave myself logged-in all the time whenever I happen to come here, but you know…sometimes I gotta share my computer with some people who happen to break theirs at the time and need Internet access, and what not, and I don’t really want them going through all my RMN stuff / files including posting random stuff on here and getting me into trouble, so logged-off I stay.
