how you made to put many colors??? i making a title picture and it doesnt have many colors and it doesnt admit

How do i put a picture mora than 264 colors made by my????

I was making the picture for my title and it didnt run i i put it in 264 and it look awful. can somone say me how to put a picture on rpgmaker 2003 without changing the color???? please if somone know tell me i need much that.
