What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?

I just recently beat the Portal series of games for the first time... h'o yeah, I'm late to the party and I know it. I'm a bit of a retro-gamer, just from trying to catch up more than anything, hah! But enjoyed every moment!

Mulling over what to play next... Possibly the Witcher (first one), or listen to my friends screaming about how I really should play BioShock. Or finally get enough friends together to play Artemis, hah!

I've been playing League of Angels on and off throughout the past weeks, too. Uhg... Browser games. The only thing I can sort of manage with a crazy work schedule right now. Weekends, I reserve for real gaming...

I hated Steampunk before loving Steampunk became mainstream. I still hate it.

Haha, your definition of "mainstream" covers quite a broad spectrum if you consider steampunk that popular :P

Machinarium? That...looks so familiar. *quick search* Ah yes, of course, it's on Steam!

Getting a good list out of this, thanks everyone!

Hmm, I've heard that about Bioshock, and having seen some clips, it sure does fit the theme (if in a twisted way). I'm not much for shooters, though, maybe I'll just leave that one in my back pocket for a rainy day ;P

As for Cogs, definitely up my alley! Many thanks, much appreciated!

A game I discovered a little while back is Erenor, it may not be what you want however as it's an online text-based multiplayer rpg, not like a MUD though just textual descriptions anyway it's currently fairly small and still in beta but is a very good game and nearly full release anyway plus it's calls itself magicpunk which sounds like what you want. For example one of the classes is an element wielding mage while another is effectively an engineer, two modes of transport are airships and dragons and one of the pics of the demon army shows them with a flamethrower tank.

Hmm, interesting; hadn't played games like this in a long time; sure takes me back. I'll have to give it a better look when I have more time to sit down and soak it in, thanks :)

Thoughts on Industrial Fantasy/Steampunk

Oooohh, nice ones, definitely need to add these to my list, thanks!

Definitely enjoy the stealth games too, steampunk is just icing of the cake for that one (for Dishonored I mean).

I always felt FF series was more of a steampunk and cyberpunk fusion, depending... Though yeah, FF3/VI definitely had a lot of it.

Thoughts on Industrial Fantasy/Steampunk

I wouldn't say I'm an expert on the matter, but I enjoy a good clockwork mechanism that looks like it could have been built by a mad genius in the late 1800's.

The theme tends to not be seen as much as your typical fantasy or sci-fi (or just tends to fall within those two), so it can be hard to find a good industrial fantasy or steampunk game...

Closest I've played recently were "Remnants of Skystone" and (to some extent) "The Spirit Engine" (and "Arcanum" if I go back even further)...

Any more recent (and good) games to recommend? (There's this, but it's not released yet; Alpha testing is only next month...) And anyone who brings up "Damnation" deserves a good thrashing -_-

I have a feeling that RS II is just never gonna be translated. Unless there's a group working on it that I never knew of? Lol.

2 or different 3 teams took it up and abandoned it again... then haven't heard any news in years... I'd play it (have gone through a good chunk of the beginning), but RPGs (at least oldschool ones) just aren't as captivating without knowing more about the story :/

Games that nobody remember?

I have no idea what other people know, but I'll just assume that you've never played C-Dogs (or you did and just forgot :P)

Oldschool DOS shoot-em-up. Had a level editor and co-op play. I was so into this game.

Heck yeah I remember this one, good ol' co-op fun! Usually just ended up using nothing but the flamethrower...

Now, who remembers Castle of the Winds?

Or Captain Comic?

Elder Scrolls Online

Hmm... what a nice-looking video to tell me, um, absolutely nothing? :/

That aside, who knows... with the right ideas (and not trying to just straight up copy other major MMOs), could end up with something interesting in the end.

Though, considering recent cash-ins, it could be pretty hit-and-miss...
