Weird and Unfortunate Things are Happening Review

The discussion happened due to the disclaimer at the beginning and the end of the review. If we want to revive it, we could always make a review of kumada's disclaimer.

Anyway, this review did get me to decide to play this game (eventually) although "Earthbound" had a lot to do with it.

Toraware no Shoujo - Caged Girl Review

Regardless of the motivations behind the review, it doesn't change what the "but this is bullcrap" post was a response to. It quoted Rose_Guardian's post, not Kya90's disclaimer.

Toraware no Shoujo - Caged Girl Review

I'm sorry, but this is bullcrap. "This is not a game for everyone" is the classic codeword for "I don't want serious, objective critique because my game is perfect, so nyeh!" The fact that is so commonplace with these "horror" games makes me sick, to be honest.
Funny. When developers don't mention what kind of themes/subjects their game touches upon, or what kind of audiences are fit for it, they're accused of trying to hide crucial information (among other things). But when they do, they're accused of trying to avoid criticism. It's a "bad if you do, bad if you don't" kind of situation... Hopefully everyone can see how messed up that is?

This is not what happened here. The "but this is bullcrap" post came not as a response to the author putting up a warning, but as a response to someone using that warning to ward of criticism. So, put up the warning, but don't use said warning as a talisman against criticism.

Glacia Review

I don't know tons about Ruby, but Hit Ratio is something I've always been able to mess around with since I change how the game handles it with every project I try. I could take a look.

World Remade Review

Since you actually completer the gargatuan project MotW, a game on hiatus from you is more likely to be completed than a game in production from most other member, including (definitely including) me.

Glacia Review

If anyone wants to give this game a try, I'd recommend making two of your characters into dedicated mages and one into a fighter. Accuracy will be less of an issue that way. Rain should definitely be one of the mages, he is the only one who has access to two elements. Combat should go pretty quickly then.

Master of the Wind Review

Let's assume that until/unless told otherwise, the reasons behind this review is that he downloaded the game thinking he would enjoy it, didn't enjoy it and then decided to give his opinions.

Anyway, I do agree with the sentiment that the reviewer is misunderstanding the game. When the characters are "preaching", they don't "turn" into jerks or anything else. Nor are they abandoning their character to speak the author's opinion. It's part of what they are. Cade also does eventually learn that he sometimes gets too talky-talky.

Deleted Review

"Why should the player care about the protagonists wife?" is probably what he should have asked. It did look really funny to me too.

Pom Gets Wi-Fi Review

The majority of the review does address issues that reviews are supposed to address. Heck, the only exception I can find is what's written under "Most Promising Demo" and that's one line. This is just another case of people getting upset over a low score review.

Star Stealing Prince Review

You absolutely should not require people to have played trough the whole game before writing a review. People who enjoy a game are more likely to fining it than people who don't. By requiring the reviewer to have finished the game, you filter away far more low scores than high scores and therefore add a bias towards a high score. Also, if there is a sizable amount of players who quit rather early, then I don't see why there shouldn't also be a review written by someone who quit early.
