Revised Approach

I still think it would be a good idea to have RMN Bros be its own series so that there can still be events where people can just go crazy and make whatever they want.
RMN Water World.
Are any of you guys in a bad financial situation?
author=Jparker1984
I hate living pay check to pay check and having to watch everything you buy at the store.
That's the American narrative these days. I'm supporting myself through college and it isn't an easy thing to do. Wanting to give your family more is a good trait to have; the best thing you can do is manage your debt, work hard, and gain skills that can allow you to progress into a better job that will hopefully allow you to have a larger disposable income.

There's this dude I know he dropped out of high school in 9th grade. He has two kids with two girls, which he dose take care of his kids. He has two girl friends now (that I know of.) He will blow off plans with people to go party. Yet he makes 15.90 an hour at his ONE job. Call me a bit bitter with him, that's because I am.
It depends on the job he has, I suppose. Did you consider sending in an application to his work place or a similar line of work?

To me, it always seems like the good people in life seem to get the crap end of the stick.
I've seen more cases of that than I have ever wished to see.

I'm a student so I could always use some money, but right now I'm doing ok. Here we have student benefits but there isn't much left to live with after rent and bills. I got a summer job, though, and that's making things a bit easier on the financial side.
There have been times I couldn't even afford to buy food. It's awful. Thankfully I've been able to save up some cash lately in case I want to buy myself something nice.
I'm fortunate enough to have never been in a situation to have done without food, but I know what it's like to have barely enough money to get by. Glad to hear things are improving for you.

You really love those axe-throwers, don't you? They don't need to be on EVERY platform. It's really punishing on a level where getting hit basically means falling backwards into a pit and dying.
Also, 20 moas = no thanks.
I don't think the platforming is specifically the problem here, you're just asking the player to negotiate too much at once. I'd scale back the monsters a bit.
I'll reduce the axe throwers by a third.
I thought the moas were surprising. Manipulate them to progress where you want to go. If it looks that bad (dare I say rom-hacky) I will reduce them to about eight. Assuming they can be platformed on, which is something we need to decide.

Forest Trail
Flat and boring! This forest needs more...forest. I swear I've seen other non-forest levels with as many trees. Maybe we could get some tree branches Link can walk on to add some depth and take advantage of all that empty air.
If someone would supply 8-bit branches that go with the tree, I'd be happy to do that. I admit, it is a bit flat of a level, but some of the early stages in the original Zelda 2 were like this one.

Forest Temple
Maybe it's just personal preference, but that Deku Palace midi just doesn't do anything for me.
That green temple background brick needs toned down severely. The difference between it and the solid blocks is too little; you look like you're running around in the wall. Even if it were a darker shade, it's not the most inspiring scenery.
What the heck? The torch killed me when I touched it. It's also the wrong perspective entirely.
This dungeon doesn't seem to have a thematic pendant. I know we only have five to work with, though...
Since Birdo Knuckle's blade shots can't be blocked, perhaps we ought to make them larger/more menacing.
Any other tracks you would happen to prefer?
I just used the graphics that were provided and this was grouped in with the dungeon graphics. If you, or anyone else for that matter, have any other backgrounds then send it here; I will happily replace it.
The torch is a place holder graphic. Think breakable crystal ball on a podium and you'll get what I'm going for in the level. I'll set it so it can't hurt the player when I do my level updates right before the deadline expires.
The thematic pendant is...it's green and uh...there's dirt and stuff...and...that's all I got. Did you play the updated version with the plant enemies Kaliesto supplied me? (I may not have updated the level. I'll remember to do that right before the deadline expires.)
I agree with the birdo knife thrower point. Either make the knife bigger or change the color to hint that it's unblockable.

Dark Worlds 1, 2, & 3
I think the second stage might be too technically challenging. Soli was busting peoples' chops before about Link's limited platforming prowess, and he's right. For all my skill in SMBX, it was very difficult to get Link through this mess.
I'm pretty sure we're not using the red eyes as blocks in this game.
The platforming is actually easy. It's the enemies that accompany the platforming that makes the level a bit overwhelming.
As for the eyes, if it is decided we are not using them for platforming blocks then I will add more platforms and cut their population severely.

Cliffside Run
What's with that BGM delay? Bah, don't worry; I can fix that. ;3
This stage was decent overall. I think we need to differentiate the graphics of the mountains you can walk in front of and the ones that are solid. It's not always clear, and it's an important distinction.
I'm still trying to figure out the BGM delay. I put it in audacity and it plays at the beginning like it should. When I play it in SMBX the delay is there. If you can fix it that'd be fantastic.
Once again, I used the provided graphics. I'll have to lighten the colors of the sizeable mountains to accommodate for that issue.

Heh, I have to agree Riverside Rumble really doesn't sound like a Zelda area name. Riverside Ridge would be okay though.
Alright, I'll change the level name to that.
author=GreatRedSpirit
Riverside Rumble doesn't sound like a 2D Mario level either, that's way closer to DKC level names. A Zelda name is more like "Hyrule River" which is really bland and boring. Lockez's suggestion works well for trying to sound like a real location and not being dry as dirt.
You know, it kinda does sound like a Donkey Kong Country level name. I'll let it go and take the name change to Riverside Ridge.

Riverside Rumble: I think this level needs a different name. Just because this is being made in a Mario engine doesn't mean we should follow Mario naming conventions. Clever, alliterative titles like this just don't happen in Zelda.
Majora's Mask. Wind Waker. I rest my case.

This is for Keinor if he is still active for the forest temple, I came across this. All it will need is a touch up to look more NES like:
I am kinda active. Hell yeah to those sprites. Thanks Kaliesto.
Range War: Last Man Standing In Clark County, Nevada
If the Nevada rancher has a problem with what the government is doing, he needs to settle the issue in court. Whether he likes the laws or not they're still applicable to him and everyone else.

Hey guys, I'm back! My schedule freed up a bit, so I can help you finish this thing. I haven't read $h!+ from any of these posts, so if anyone can get me up to speed on what still needs done, I'd be most appreciative.
We need more levels! When it comes to the temples it looks like we're lacking the Spirit Temple and Ganon's Lair.
The Last King of Hyrule
I finally found some free time to devote to this project again. Dark World Stage 2 is my new level. All I'll say on it is that I hope you like eyeballs and those mace throwing enemies.

Beat the game, I give your game a 5/5...appropriate for the 5th community project. I had alot of fun. Though I gotta say you're gonna give people nightmares of that "one level". That level creep me out. o_o
Are you referring to my horror level, Path to Darkness? Regardless, glad to hear you enjoyed the game. We're gonna top ourselves with the next RMN World.
