Story
The Hero assumes the role of the descendant of Edrick, a legendary warrior who's valiant deeds will be told for generations. Edrick brought peace back to the land by defeating evil beings with a ball of light. After peace was restored, Edrick gave the ball of light to King Leoric, who unified Alefguard. After many generations, the ball of light was stolen from King Leoric XVI at Tantangle Castle by the evil Dragonlord, plunging Alefguard into chaos once again. Many brave warriors tried to recover the ball of light from the Dragonlord at Charlocke Castle, but none have returned. A man named Mahitta predicted that "One day, a descendent of the valiant Edrick shall come forth to defeat the Dragonlord."
Edrick's descendant travels to Tantangle Castle after hearing rumors that King Leorik XVI had requested his presence. Upon arriving, King Leoric reveals to him that he is indeed the descendant of the legendary warrior Edrick, and requests that he saves his daughter, Princess Gwaelen from the clutches of evil. Before embarking on his journey, King Leoric tells Edrick's descendant to retrieve 3 items from chests in his Chambers, and to speak with as many people as possible in order to obtain information that will aid him in his quest.

Why is "The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past" such a great game?
author=Darkennope, I am a very calm guy who has a huge passion for gaming.

Why is "The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past" such a great game?
author=CAVE_DOG_IS_BACK
I like a fair amount of zelda games, just not LTTP. I don't know how to describe this very well, but to me, it is an incredibly boring game. I'm just put to sleep every time I play it. Link's awakening, though, is still one of my favorites.
There is a glitch in Link's awakening that allows you to travel to any screen, I forgot how to trigger it but its fun. Did you know that Nintendo was making a Zelda 3 for the nes but it had gotten canceled due to the snes's release? I would love to see Zelda 3 for the nes.
Why is "The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past" such a great game?
The reason I asked the questions "Why is The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past such a great game? And what are the key gameplay elements that make the game so fun to enjoy playing?" is because I am making a action battle system game like Zelda but with a leveling up element. BTW LockeZ, I like your answer, I am surprized there are people that don't like Zelda at all.. Maybe they are a different generation that grew up with more advanced consoles. I grew up with the Nintendo Entertainment System so I have a lot of knowledge on the evolution of games.

Hello, my name is DeathShrimp, I am a game developer and love video games in general. I have a question for everyone.
Why is "The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past" such a great game? And
what are the key gameplay elements that make the game so fun to enjoy playing?
There are no wrong answers, thanks for your time and opinions.

Script call help
Sprite Question
Edit : Yes it will work, by modifying it. You can use paint to do so. Examine a vx sprite and notice it is 3 by 4 sprites, so you will need to reformat the xp sprites, also, when you have finished formatting put a "$" symbol in the filename.
Oh, nevermind, your using 2k3.

Script call help
I have this really cool japanese script for RMVXAce from Tomaoky that displays fog during battle. It works great, the only thing I can't do is disable the script for certain battles. In other words, I just want this script to run on certain maps. Anyone know of a script call command? Thanks for your time.

"In the unnamed building (temple?) to the southwest you enter a teleport into another place and eventually fight a particular enemy which allows you to get a couple of items as drops and then you get teleported back out. You can't activate the teleport again after that. So, the purpose of that dungeon is basically getting those two items or is there anything else to it. I have been able to get two other fights before having fighting the particular enemy mentioned earlier ..."
Yes, that dungeon was meant to take you out with no reentry after defeating the boss. It was a experimental dungeon. I will change this in version 1.5
Defender of Alefguard 1.5 will have Enemy Sprite Attack Animation and more bug fixes as well as more content. I am still currently working on the animation, whats taking me so long is formatting the sprites.

In order to get the rainbow drop, there are 3 items you need.
1. Staff of rain. On the Northern side of the continent there is a shrine where you can trade the Silver harp (located in garlon's grave in garonham) for the staff of rain.
2. Edrick's Token. Located in a swamp just below Catalin.
3. Stones of Light. Located in Tantangle Basement.
Once you have all these items, below Rimuldar is a shrine where you can trade the items for the Rainbow Drop, once you have the rainbow drop, travel Northeast from Rimuladar until you meet a path the almost connect to another island, walk there, and the rainbow bridge will appear.
