I think Wakka was required for mastery for Yojimbo, unless I'm misremembering. I definitely had him in my party for a reason. I just went with good old trusty Gilgamesh.
Also, a protip I only realized on my second attempt: the dog isn't targetable, so you don't have to manually target the boss for every attack like you do with Seymour.

I am way, way behind on regular dungeons. I haven't even touched an elite one in months. It seems like anything past difficulty 100 is just a slog, anyway.
Managed to master Yojimbo thanks to some gratuitous Draw Fire + Retaliate abuse. Even then, he started spamming Zanmato toward the end, but I got away with no KOs.
I had way more trouble with Seymour, strangely, because the entire fight felt like a crapshoot. Resisted Venom Buster 6 times? Reload. Venom stuck; resisted Silence Buster 6 times? Also reload. Silence wore off and he got Reflect to stick? Reload. Cross Cleave three times in a row? Yeah no.
