Making something that even resembles a game in 3 hours is a real challenge.
Why does great looking indie games get cancelled?

Perhaps what the person wanted to do in the game is too
difficult to do.
I see a lot of cancelled games. And some are using old RPG Makers.
Some people decide to upgrade to something more easy to use than
RPG Maker 2003 for example.
My policy. I don't post the game page until the game is completed
and the download is ready. That way no one can be
disappointed - unless they're disappointed because the game totally
sucks :)
Full game is overkill. You're better off at least releasing a demo to get some feedback.

I don't know why but I really want to make an SMBX episode consisting of the worst stages imaginable. I'd call it "How to not make a Mario Level"
That wonderful moment when giving harsh criticism, and the subject actually responds positvely instead of defensively. So wonderful, if everyone was like that I'd be a fucking pleasure ;A;
You can slam my work(and me in the process) as hard as you want just as long as it's at least somewhat constructive and it gives me something to ponder or even discuss, I won't hold it against you. You may have the entire forum (or even community) hold me to that. On the other hand, if it's going to be nothing put a pool of insults, it had better at least be amusing. XD
Current Status
homes for people is not something to be ignored, unless you want the impression that it's more of a military fort/outpost rather than a castle town. Also, on a map of that size, you may wish to pass on the water. Just a thought.

As much as I like Ralph, I gotta stick with Alex on this one. He is the RTP hero, after all.
Also, I do believe you're missing Zack and Fess. (2k3 and 95, respectively.)

Who would win? VX RTP hero Ralph or VXACE RTP hero Erik? I vote Ralph.
