Sometimes I write fanfiction. Enough people have told me I am good at it that I believe them.

So, um. Almost exactly three years ago I said I would write the first Luxaren fanfic. I am an absurdly slow writer. But, at last, it is done. Woo!
Chapters will go up Wednesdays and Saturdays for around the next six weeks (except Dragoncon weekend, which I might miss). Everything is finished and polished, so it's not going to disappear into the ether.
...now I'm going to go do something else and try to forget to be nervous about it.

/me stumbles over finish line.
So, the draft is finished. Things always take longer than I expect. I'll probably need about two weeks to edit things enough to start posting -- or longer, because see previous.
I'm not sure where to post and/or link this when it's ready. I usually post fanfiction on my personal site, on AO3, and (formerly?) on FFNet. That doesn't get much exposure even for really well known fandoms. Is there anywhere else that would be appropriate, as far as finding readers goes? I don't know anything about the RPGM community, or yuri communities, or, for that matter, current fanfiction communities, so I'm not sure where to look.

Over the last year or so, I've (very) slowly written what I think is the only piece of LA fanfiction out there. It's nearly done. For Femslash February, I'm trying to push through what's left of it.
I'm looking for a beta reader. I can get basic spelling and grammar checks elsewhere, but for subtler issues like out-of-character moments and canon-continuity fails, I need someone who knows the game well. I don't know anywhere else to ask for that, so I'm asking here. The draft won't be ready for a couple of weeks, but given the quietude of this thread, I figure I'd better assume some delay before someone notices the request.
Anyone interested, or know someone else who might be? It looks like it will finish around 30k words, so expect a roughly three hour read.

I'd guess the nation was named after the god rather than them being the same thing, but it works for me either way.

Agreed, that one makes it sound like the land. But there's also things like this: "Let me walk only with the steps of righteousness, and let me cast down all who oppose Rezael's will. Through me, reveal to all the glory of the slumbering God." Or, even more clearly "In the Holy Name of Rezael, I pray." Both of those sound like it's the name of the god. Hence my uncertainty.
(I think maybe only Unity can answer with authority. But I don't know if she still watches this thread, I see no posts for several months)

Yeah, I'm not sure how it would work narratively either. Fortunately I get to punt that question because I'm not the creator. :-P
Dyhalto: I'm all in favor of difficult; I was really happy to see a Hard mode and even happier when it actually killed me once or twice. Long is considerably more questionable.
I'm not sure why it bugged me in LA and not in, say, FFIV, where the finale is structurally very similar (Lunar caves = Castle Darkloft, upper core = Gate World, lower core = Final Dungeon, only one minor break in each sequence). Maybe it's just because FFIV was a longer game overall.

You know, here's something that might be useful.
I and (I think?) a couple of others complained that the final dungeon was too long. I'm looking at the way it was organized in RPGMaker, and I note that "Gate World" and "The Final Dungeon" are categorized separately -- but when I was actually playing, I felt like they were one and the same. Actually, everything from Darkloft onwards felt like a single dungeon, and I'm pretty sure it was in that sense that I felt like it was "too long".
But looking at the game internals, it doesn't seem like that was your intent. Was it? Maybe the issue was never "final dungeon too long" but "insufficient break between multiple dungeons that were intended to be logically separate".
Just a thought.
