Eternal Twilight

Hello all. I'm working on the finishing touches of the game before I release the updated demo to you all. I want to make sure there are no game-breaking bugs to be found before releasing it. I hope you're all ready for big boss #2! :D

PS - Parallaxing a 15 room dungeon has been so time-consuming, but it turned out ever so lovely! ^_^

@Squallstorm: I am pretty pleased with the results myself. In fact, I'm thinking of adding more options for players for every skill. I got kinda lazy and rushed it, hence why they only level up once and only have 1-2 options. I am going to go back and add a minimum of 2-3 options for each skill, and possibly have a few go up to a 3rd rank. This makes is so that different players can essentially have different character builds, which makes every play-through unique.


EDIT: I have already upgraded the skill learn system to also add permanent stat boosts when unlocking a skill. This will also influence certain choices you make when upgrading a skill.
Example: Upgrade to this version of a skill and get +15 MaxHP or upgrade to the other version of a skill and get +2 Magic Attack? Weeee! ^_^

@squallstorm: I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. I really am trying hard to deliver a satisfying experience to my players. Keep an eye out for the updated demo that I hope to release around the end of the week that will include more content to play around with! ^_^

I am going to finish the Port Town Muyan area and then the next dungeon + boss before uploading the next demo. I want to make sure I give people enough new stuff to warrant re-downloading the game! :)
It should be ready by the end of the week, school is getting crazy busy this week, so I've had to cut back my RPG MAKER time.

Major Boss: Vygor

Biography:
Vygor was unleashed by a Dark Magi who meddled in Summoning Magic. The Magi overestimated his own power, and was quickly annihilated by Vygor soon after bringing him into the world. Now Vygor runs rampart deep in an underground tunnel connecting the two main continents. Vygor must be stopped before he escapes the tunnel and wreaks havoc on the world.

Abilities:
  • Megaton Punch- Deals damage to one enemy. The damage of this ability increases as Vygor loses more health. Base damage is about 60 at full HP, but can go as high as 170 when he is around 5% HP. This ability can become very dangerous, very fast, so it is essentially that you burn this boss down once he hits lower HP.
  • Demon Cleave- Deals damage to all enemies and deals more damage based on how much health Vygor is missing. Deals about 60% of the damage that Megaton Punch deal, so it is effectively more dangerous than if he uses his single-target abilities.
  • Head Bash- Vygor will deal large damage to one enemy and stun them for one turn.
  • Charge!- Vygor will not attack for one turn, but will power himself up...
  • Quaking Stomp- Vygor will use this ability the turn after using Charge! and deal large damage to all enemies, also leaving them stunned for one turn. Guarding against this ability will greatly reduce the damage taken and mitigate the stun effect completely.

Were the "empty" items only acquirable through the store, or did you notice you had some prior to that? I fixed the store, I had moved some items around in the database and forgot to update the inventory.

I fixed the problem that crashed Tajin Forest...I manually stripped files from my game to knock down the download size, and totally missed that one.
  • PS - That was one of those rare "spirit" monsters too, booo!


Is the most recent demo you downloaded the one with enemy side-view battlers or no?
Also, did you try going into the Runecrafting Shrine? I had a few people mention that it was freezing up on them, I wanted to know if I fixed the problem.

I think I know what the issue is...whenever I deploy the project, it seems to be removing some vital parts, causing all these crashes because I've meticulously test-played all of this stuff countless times and it always works on my end. - This issue has been fixed.

As for the AP bug, it was actually another plug-in that was screwing it up. I have removed the plug-in and replaced it with one that is compatible. I'm going to try to fix the deployment problem, and then I will re-upload a fixed demo. -This issue has been fixed.

The most current fixes and adjustments have been uploaded.

A bug has been found where sometimes you will receive a "Nan" message when gaining AP after battle, and it will reset that character's total AP back to zero. I believe the issue has been fixed, and the demo has been uploaded reflecting it. Sorry for the inconvenience! D:
