I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The main difference is you get married for love, but you get a job for money. I would marry someone I despised for eighty thousand dollars a year.
In case anyone is wondering, the original purpose of marriage had nothing to do with love. It was a business contract. That's the point of a dowry.

I'm just saying, this philosophy relies an awful lot on the assumption that one has a safety net to fall back on for long enough to obtain a non-sucky job. Which, at least where I live, both the general safety net and the not-shitty job are not widely available, especially for people under a certain class stratum.
It is very, very easy to say, "Well, if you don't like your job, quit and get a better one!" if you don't have to deal with crushing poverty.
If you do have that safety net, then yes, it's a decent philosophy. But that is not a universal thing.

That is assuming realizing you hate your job you just quit it without doing anything else beforehand, nor having any options.
I mean, sometimes you just gotta hang in there, and that's OK.
But knowing that "something better" exists, and finding ways to work towards it (and be it just looking out for open job offers), is a healthy thing to do imho.

Yeah, Kylaila understands what I'm getting at. But of course I agree with you Sooz ttoo. Having security is important and not everyone has the luxury of up and quitting or getting away from a abusive relationship or situation.
But Kylaila said how I feel, that there is something better out there even if you have to struggle a bit more to achieve it.

I just get jumpy about stuff like this because I keep seeing it as a way to dismiss people who complain about shit work conditions, rather than taking the opportunity to improve conditions for everyone. Freakin crab bucket mentality. :(

Just trying to be positive because I've been in really low situations and I'm feeling it now again.

Searching for better opportunities makes the working conditions that do exist and are accepted in many places no better. And yup, it's not easy and it just isn't a thing you can just decide or change on a whim.
It is just for the sanity of an inidividual to keep the spirits high and the eye looking for opportunity. Because in face of such things, valuing and encouraging the power you do have is important.
That's how I see it : )
