Well, instead of everyone posting their votes on the thread, they could send a pm. That way, it wouldn't devolve into a popularity contest. As long as the person tallying the votes was honest, then it would work.

@Caz: I think it would be easier to judge for sure. X amount of points for fulfilling the requirements (pirate theme/self-loathing/etc.). X amount of points for meeting required length (not going over 100 words). X amount of points for style and creativity. Something like that could definitely work.

Yup, I kind of just lost interest with this when voting opened up and I realized, "Oh wait. Everyone is voting, nothing is labeled/numbered in an organized fashion, this is going to be messy. Very, very messy."

Hear: splashing water, children playing, spluttering, wind rustling leaves, coughing, metal clanking, "Got it!" buzzing from insects.
See: greenish grass, brother jumping in the pool, children swimming, woman floating on pink floaty, tall trees, small insect scurrying around puddles of water, poofy clouds.
Touch: rippling cool water lapping at my feet, warm wind on my face, hot sun on my head, solid wooden bench - rough in places, soft beach towel - a little worn with a frayed end.
Smell: clorine, smoke, trees.
Action: Swimming in the cool pool water.
