I'm a newbie game creator and I came across a program that is simple to use but is advanced at the same time. I'm hoping to succeed in making great games and please don't post hate due to the lack of detail. This happens because I started around 3 weeks ago and i'm new to the whole RPG Maker VX Ace thing.

No, ]] is not the character's name. In the game you can choose a name and I quickly pressed any random character.

Well, About the Shovel thing.
I downloaded "The Largest Tileset" for RPG Maker VX Ace and I couldn't seem to find out how to fix the icon for it.. Any help?
About the crashing thing, Ever since I changed the name of the character's face to "Main Char" instead of "Main Character" it kept crashing some texts. I'll try to rename it back to "Main Character" and fix the issue.
Alright, I'll change the "You" thing to your character's name. But I don't think you can put code inside code... I'll try!
One more thing, I don't understand what you mean by: "And more of those stones at the tops of steps. Trust me the shift key is your friend here"
Last thing: The boy at the camp will be later on explained, he's a side character. I put him there to look like an NPC so that no one would know it's coming. I won't spoil for you.
