Dragon Quest goes Platformer (working title)
Pretty good demo. It ran a bit choppy on the EEEPC netbook on the first screen. The town scene was bit better since it didn't have much graphical effect. Due to the choppiness, it was hard to control. I will try it on another machine to fully experience the demo better. I did like the graphic effect as leaves swaying and the sun shiny on the scene.

I have several unfinished projects I lost motivation to work on. When I work on a project, I tend to have too many idea cramming into my head at once as I gone on a project. Colorless Quest is the latest one I'm wanting to finish and make a simple quest to fetch the princess and make several dungeons and win the game. However, turning the simple black and white graphic into color got me an idea to make specific area using a specific graphic style kinda complicates things. I can see it in my mind how I want an area too look like, but executing that idea is difficult.
It's the same for all other projects I worked on using varies program. I wanted to participate in this event so much and enjoy visiting this site, I finally tied the side quest together. I work well under pressure. But, there's like hundred of projects I started that are unfinished.

I just uploaded my project to be accepted. Hopefully the game will run without complaining about missing RTP since it I didn't use any of the RTP graphics. I only included all the sound and midi. This is my first time submitting my RPGmaker work to the public after having this program over 12 years. Hopefully some people will enjoy it.

How to make image backgrounds transparent?
In the monster database tab near the monster picture box, there's 2 check boxes that can be checked to set your monster a flying creature or transparent. Transparent in this tab means making your monster half invisible so you can see through the monster and see the background. It usually for ghost figure monsters.
Shredder already have his transparent colors eliminated when he was imported.
I know this is confusing. Try uncheck the transparent check box in the monster tab and go back to your Troop tab to see shredder in his solid state.

The description explains it. It was initially was 2 colors, until I decided to use color. The main graphic style is saturated colors, but some area in the game, such as dungeons has it own graphical theme. Once I get into the mood(bipolar and all), I'll finish this one.
RM2k3's resolution is too high!
Pick a resolution setting like 1024x768, and the netbook should scroll vertically.
Or click on the very top of the window's task bar and move it down or move it to the side. The database screen is click and drag the titlebar and move it up so the word Database is off the screen. That should give you move pixel to work with.
If the netbook have a VGA output, use that.
