[PAID] Looking for pixel artist for a small project
I am no longer looking for pixel artists at this time. However, I will have more work available in the near future, so feel free to reach out to me anyway.
[PAID] Looking for pixel artist for a small project
Hello,
I am looking for a pixel artist to do a few original graphics inspired by Earthbound for a teaser trailer of my next game. This is a paid opportunity and if I like what I see, there is potential for more work when I start developing the game.
If you're interested send me a message here. If you know anyone who might be interested, then feel free to refer them to me or send me links to their portfolios.

What was your introduction to making games?
RPG Maker 2000 (using Don Miguel's translation) for me was my first official experience making games. I never completed anything though. The first time I completed a game it was made in Flash.
However, my first attempt at making something that might resemble some kind of game was actually in Mario Paint. My brother and I would draw maps and even a UI with icons. We would then "play" the maps using a stamp as the player. That's what later got me interested in finding other tools to create real games.

Hi there,
I am back! However, you probably don't know me. I registered in 2009 and posted a bit at that time. It's already been almost 8 years since then!
Some info about me: I'm a software engineer by day, and game developer by night. I used to make flash games, but switched to Unity two years ago. Since then I have been working on an RPG in Unity.
I'm now hoping to get more involved in RPG development, and perhaps collaborate on some projects.

RPGs in Flash

From what I know of it, Flash doesn't have the same local storage capabilities of, well, games made in almost anything else. Using cookies for storage is browser+computer dependent and is not a good persistence solution. Maybe the game could give a password for users to copy down (like normal text) into notepad or something. Maybe a DB backend, but that's a different can of worms dealing with secure communications and whatnot.
That's sort of what I'm facing right now. My first RPG used cookies and I noticed some problems right away since the moment I go on another computer I can't continue my game, and at one point while testing my game someone cleared the cookies on my computer and my saved game was gone.
I'm looking into making something that uses a database in the background for my next game, since that seems to have worked for some.
RPGs in Flash
I've been mostly using flash to make games these past few years. I made an RPG in flash and I'm making another one, so I was wondering what is your opinion of RPGs made in flash? Or your opinion on developing RPGs in flash.
How long have you been working on your game?
My first RPG (made in flash) took me about a year to finish. I had originally intended it to be a small game which I would complete in only a few months, but since I was making everything from scratch it ended up taking a whole year instead.
As for the game I'm working on now, I've been working on it for about 7 months. It's a pretty big game so it's going as expected so far, and it will probably be finished in a few months.
Another game I made a few years ago (an escape game in flash) took me only three weeks to make. It was a project for a course and I had only three weeks to complete it. I worked over 10 hours every day on it, but I was able to finish it in time.

Where will you be in 10 years? (Discussion)
I'll be nearly 34 years old in 10 years. By that time I hope I will have finished my masters in fine arts and will be teaching somewhere. On the side I'll probably still be making games and might have my own business.
Of course, that's what I expect will happen. I would also like to have my own replica of the Hindenburg, but that probably won't happen.

Whats the worst thing you ever saw in high school?
Hello Everyone
Well, I am new here; having registered only moments ago! Yes, that is very exciting indeed. I work as a programmer, but in my spare time I like to develop games. More recently I have been making games in flash, and even more recently I have been making RPGs in flash (OK well just one so far).
I do a little bit of everything in games. Writing, Programming, 3D Modeling, Music (I'm not too good but though, but that doesn't matter) and sometimes sound effects.
I used RPG Maker a long time ago (RPG Maker 95), but I never completed any games with that. Anyway, that's the important things you need to know about me!
