I'm not debating which is the lesser of two evils, I'm noting that they are both evils. Driving after getting high is irresponsible.
Fair enough, then we can both come to the conclusion that what I'm doing is irresponsible. I am just trying to do it in the most responsible way possible by taking extra precautions. Stupid as it may sound, I have yet to cause an accident or do something to result in me putting anyone else at risk.

This is a prime example of why I believe America shouldn't be allowed to smoke weed legally.
The significance of F-G's statement about drunk drivers and high drivers, which you so rudely and inappropriately dismissed, was that you're impaired regardless of what you think or how you rationalize it. You say you're extra careful when you're high. That means you recognize you're being irresponsible and putting others at risk. No offense, Masa, but this is what I mean when I say I don't trust people to "use responsibly."
Yes but the impairment of alcohol vs weed is significantly different. I don't see being extra careful as irresponsible as I'm taking extra steps to follow the rules of the road in order to avoid an accident or put others at risk.

The fact that you're altered, even if you "realize" it, is precisely the reason why you shouldn't drive while high. You can't really tell, yourself, how deep this alternation will go, because the issue lies inside your mind, and it affects your decisionmaking abilities and senses. Believing you are more "alert" when your brain is negatively impaired in some way is just a delusion.

Wouldn't work for a drink-driver, therefore doesn't work for someone high when driving either.

It's comments like these that really make me upset. If you don't advocate driving under the influence of anything, then leave it at that. "Handling your high" isn't taking responsiblity; staying at home and denying yourself the possibility of affecting anyone but yourself is the only shred of responsibility that can be maintained while doing drugs.

edit: As far as driving while high is concerned, it all depends on how you handle your high. Not everyone turns into a giggling retard after they smoke. I'm not advocating driving under the influence, but I feel that I can smoke up and drive five minutes later to Wendys as I would normally with the only exception being that I feel fantastic.
