Hmm.. I tried the message system script, but it really didn't add much improvement. Decided I didn't need it.
In the end I just went into the window skin, and edited it manually. The white looked good, but to me it was still hard to read with the light window skin.
So I decided to test out black. Thoughts?

Really cool. I know that you're gonna tweak a few of those visual aspects, but I like that you're putting as much content down as possible before you start polishing. Just in case you want some feedback on the visual polishing, however, I'll just outline some points that I think would make the game look even better. The gray text is blurry and difficult to read, so perhaps removing the outline using something like Yanfly's Message System script would be nice. That, or you can change the colour back to white with a black outline. Battlers facing you can be replaced with side-facing battlers, but I'm guessing you're doing that later too.
Overall, it's a really nice system and I think that you should keep laying down functionality before polishing it. You keep reminding me that creating as much interesting gameplay is possible is key, because too many project polish as they go, I think. Thanks for the update!
I used mostly all of Yanfly's scripts in Infinity 3, but this time I'm only using scripts I need to make the game simpler. So far it uses the save script, and I might switch to the message system script as well.
The side-facing battlers I probably won't switch to, since that requires some graphics work. I will probably just stick with what I have, and maybe work on the battle system.
:)
