Mass Effect Chronicles - Alpha
This project is in a state of Limbo. Basically, to sum up, my life has been focused on my family (had a baby shortly after posting this here), college (one year left!), and work (blah!).
I've been thinking long and hard how to pick this back up after I'm done with college, so, a year from now... but it's definitely something I want to finish. I can only hope a few of my team members still want to finish it with me by that point in time.
Also, seriously considering using RPGmaker VX Ace instead of RMXP, any opinions on that?

Yes, it's based on them, but that doesn't mean it's the same experience simply dumbed down to 2D. As for why I'm making this... I thought it would be great to see Mass Effect in a heavy-RPG environment. LMFAO
You know what I think; I think you should explain why you're making this here fangame, and why you think it might be worth other people's time, particularly due to the existence of the actual official games.
Hence the word "heavy".
Anyhow, I made it because I loved Mass Effect and the universe that Bioware made is absolutely amazing. Seeing that universe from a different perspective is (what I think) an interesting way to spend my free-time.

So why am I hearing that the Airbender movie sucked?
Id love to see Inception... but the game-to-movie Im excited for is the Mass Effect movie (providing they don't re-tell the same story as the games.)

Hey guys, I'm Norton (if you couldn't already tell from the username...) and I really can't believe I was oblivious to this website's existence until yesterday...
I've been using RPGMaker since '95' and have been working on my first full-length game "Mass Effect Chronicles" for the past six months.
With any luck, you'll see me around these forums fairly often (providing I'm not killed or die from a severe rabbit bite to the neck...)

Everything in those screenshots were made specifically for this game (with the exception of the space panorama). I made a few sprites and tiles here and there, but the artwork for this game can be credited to ;

We've put alot of time into making this game unique from anything else in the RMXP realm, and hopefully it will prove to be a worthy stand-alone game.

A really, REALLY good point with the reflections. I think it's definitely easier to tell the difference when you're actually in the game, but even so, I would like to make it more clear.
I also considered making the sprites a little bigger, but it had some unwanted effects (such as the feeling that the playable area seemed smaller than it really was. etc...)
When I first started this project, it was just me, and I wasn't sure how far I would get with it. But now there's a team of 9 people plus myself working daily on this thing... so it's definitely come a long way since it first started off. Speaking of which, where did you first hear about this?
