Game Design Discussion of the Week: Hey Assholes, Stop Giving Up.

author=YummyDrumsticks link=topic=1611.msg26438#msg26438 date=1217958922
I always had issues with indecisiveness which eventually leads my projects down the drain. I think what my largest issue is being unable to figure out what happens in the middle of a game. I have the opening and the end perfect envisioned, but trying to create what happens in between can be a little bit difficult!

I know how that goes, thats my major problem... I put alot of work into side missions, and end up with a game filled with side missions, and no good storyline...

Some advice

Alright thanks for the advice, I will try to get a demo up in a week or two. I have a problem getting to an internet connection, where I can upload files at, so it may take awhile, but I will keep you informed.

Hola

Yea they do have just about anything RPG Maker related and much more, but I had already started the forum, before I found this site. So im going to give it a shot, and maybe get some good programmers there, my board has a programming section, too.

Some advice

My bad, I forgot to mention that it is made in RPG Maker 2003, and probably could be classified as an action-rpg. Im wanting it with a kindof openarea/storyline guided setup.

Some advice

okay, The setting is just after WW3, There are no more governments, just massive gangs, bent on taking over the earth... The main chars are as follows:

You -- A lowly guy in a gang representing the only bit of Democracy left
Smith -- A radio Operator who you have to rescue to get
Cant remember name -- A spec ops guy who joins you...
Someone else will be added later.

You start out on a map that has a river running down the middle, your base is on the left, thiers is on the right. Roving planes, artillery, and men are on both sides, as well as a few divers in the water. So far the first part you must eliminate a main guy in a heavily guarded castle, which a side mission gets you some aid in that respect. The second area is a huge river, in which you have to get the building supplies to the damaged part of the bridge in order to fight the second boss. In addition to constant fighting you can explore caves and mine some rocks. The Radio Operator is required to use the Sat Phone, which depending on the number you enter can take you to special shops or make you loose money. I havent thought of anything after the second area, although I did put snipers, that cannot be killed to injure the party if they step on the wrong tile... Basically, what I am asking is there anything you think I could add to make it better, and possible minigames that I might could add, I was thinking an jet battle for a minigame. So any suggestions would be much appreciated, and if you need more details ask me...

Some advice

Im working on a game based just after WW3, and need some ideas on what features I should put in it, im going to upload a demo to my site in a week or two, but I was wondering what type of side missions I should add?

Hola

Okay, heres some more info about me. I'm 17 and live in Florida, I know the basics of Basic and Python, I'm okay with HTML, and I've used RPG Maker 2003 and different versions of Game Maker... I'm not artistically apt, and I have problems conjuring up good storylines. But when I start on a game it has many side missions, alot of varibles and switches, and is fairly well bug tested... I don't have any games to upload as of yet, but I am about finished with a World War 3 like game, that will be a demo, hopefully updated often... I'm currently looking to help anyone out who could use a hand in thier games. Anymore questions just ask...

Hola
