"My hate is general, I detest all men;
Some because they are wicked and do evil,
Others because they tolerate the wicked,
Refusing them the active vigorous scorn
Which vice should stimulate in virtuous minds."

Yeah I see what you mean. I'm definitely going to have to work on the HUD quite a bit and redraw some elements (or change the font for in battles).

You raise some excellent points. Thanks a lot for the notes. I'll try out the changes you suggested and see how they look. As far as the floor tiles go, I'll try either making the floor tiles darker or I'll make them less of the "quad" tile and more of a single large square per tile.
EDIT: Updated the floors to both be darker and less cluttered. I'll need to edit the autotiles for the walls before I can do some shift mapping with the floor however.

Haha, thanks. It originally was a lot brighter (I maxed out the Blue) and toned it down a bit already. But I can tone it down a bit more, definitely.

And that is something I appreciate, and I'm definitely going to be more critical and redraw everything that I got lazy on. Kilim is a buddy and trying to stand up for me, which I appreciate. Don't get me wrong, you folks make valid points, and I'm glad to have it pointed out.

Thanks for the feedback. Please check out the updated slime and let me know what you think. :)
Don't worry Ronove, the player battlers are placeholders. I plan on redrawing them as I improve at doing pixel art (I'm fairly new at this whole art thing, only been doing so since June).

I did use them as a reference for the shape, and then I redrew it so it looked more like the RTP slime with the details. Since the RTP slime is essentially an identical pose, just spilling out to the left instead of to the right. But hey, if it bothers you that much then I can just make them look like jujubees. :P
But yeah, give me a sec and I'll redraw some of these since they're too close to the references for your liking. :)

The point of this game is to be in the 8bit NES era of RPGs. That's why I'm going for older game styles. This was originally a project I started for NaGaDeMo (and it looked a lot worse then) and the point of the game is to be an NES Dungeon Crawler. So that's why the colors are using the NES palette.
So the feel is going to be very Dragon Quest / FF1 / Phantasy Star / Lufia / etc. That's the vibe I'm going for, a nostalgic dungeon crawler.
It's just going to be "commercial" because I'm going to slap it on Greenlight when I get far enough along (have a Beta demo complete) and see how it goes.
