Love and War: Act I

Phew, finished the game.

What a ride! This is my first time playing the complete complete version and it does not disappoint. The voices and art really do bring more life to characters compared to just having sprites. The constant delays brought upon by the VA and art were unfortunate. True, without the extras the game could have been released much, much earlier but I thought the payoff was worth it. It' a tough subject to think about.

Haha, the Programmer's Room was awesome! James "flipping his shit" Firkins and Aekenon were especially hilarious XD Didn't know Ryan's VA was Australian lol.

Wise words from Typhoon. Wise words indeed...

The Here and Now of Yesterday

Alrighty, here are my impressions:

I wasn't too bothered by lighting inconsistencies given the dreamscape context. I thought everything flowed together well, and almost all the rooms had some form of interactivity. I particularly enjoyed Gibmaker's, Happy's, Demi's and Merlinman's maps.

Gibmaker's bathroom blew my mind with the amazing water effects. I said god damn.
Demi's map was the most disturbing (dat video).
Happy's map had that nasty face pic flash up randomly which caught me off guard.
I was pleasantly surprised at how similar Merlinman's map was to mine with the idea of having 2 different versions of our rooms. Great music selection.

Aside from the already fixed "no god room" bug,

I found that the right lamp in the solarium increases movement speed
The journal in the chapel's hidden cellar room cannot be read due to tile passability
I don't know if it's just me but the main dungeon map lags like hell for me. Possibly a parallel process/loop issue
I don't get any music in the garden maze. Looking in the editor it appears the file ff8train is missing?

Overall, nicely done.

The Here and Now of Yesterday

I'm lost so I think I'll just wait for the walkthrough lol. Surprised how everything flowed together so well.

The Here and Now of Yesterday

How much of the game is completed? Looking at Liberty's latest post, it sounds like it just needs to be uploaded no?

I'm also willing to lend a hand if you need it.

RPG 20XX Engine

No transparency issues on my end. Should report this to WolfCoder.

RPG 20XX Engine

Sounds like the hide/show screen command is the cause of this fuzz. You could create a test project and see if you can replicate this.

@Link: Yeah, I edited the poses and the battle animations. Credit to MrBubble for the original VX animations (http://mrbubblewand.wordpress.com/download/)

The screen shaking thing looks weird because of the panorama. It's actually like that in vanilla 2k3 too. Perhaps WolfCoder can put in some black bars on the edge of the panorama during shaking? Just before the battle ends during the hide screen, the battlers appear for like a split second. Not sure why though, it may be the combination of hide screen and recall memorised position that's the problem.

I'd also like battle animations to appear above battlers too.
