I am a carbon-based life form located on the third planet from the star "Sol". I am mostly an artist , and dabble in various defunct, art styles that only I seem to find attractive. From time to time I flirt with making a game only to be sidetracked by life altering events. Now that I am finally _relatively_ stable. I'm climbing back on to the saddle... lets see how far this goes.

[RM2K3] Using Pictures with Panoramas for Maps
As the title states, I've been trying my best to do a little "Parallax Mapping" with RM2k3 (the official English release). I've used the 2kdev tool to make panoramas of my maps, but doing the upper layers is frustrating. I'm using pictures for my bigger more elaborate objects but I can't seem to get them to stay put, or put them in the right place. Even when I select the "scroll with map" option.
I've searched for tutorials on this issue but most aren't as thorough as I'd like . (probably owing to the programs age) , are in another language, or are for another maker entirely. They also either focus too much on the mapping side of things without getting into the technical details. And when they do , they're usually speaking to someone who understands the program much better than I do.
Basically I would like to to know how to properly place a picture by getting the right coordinates (there has to be a better way than guessing) And how to lock that picture in place so that it's not stuck "on top" of the hero.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Also if you can point me to a tutorial on this subject I may have missed, even better. And hell, if this is actually impossible, well let me know that as well...

Any one still use the RM2k Classic RTP?
Hey, sorry if this is the wrong forum, but it's the best place I could find for this.
I have a bit of a strange request. With the re-release of RM2k3 , my interest in RPG-making was sorta-kinda rekindled. Though, instead of the 2k3 RTP tile sets I prefer the old 2k ones. Yes, I'm sure I'm in the minority there, but does any one still use it? And if so does anyone have any maps made with the old RTP lying around?.
I'm making my game with the old RTP plus personal edits and was looking for screenshots and maps for some inspiration. I know it's a weird request, and most people probably prefer the 2k3 tilesets, but this is the only forum I know that has active 2k / 2k3 users.
Anyways, post your screenshots here or send em in a pm if you wanna keep them private.

Back to RPG making
Yeah, I used to be big into RPG-making a while back, but it was all put on hiatus when I went to college. Seeing as though it's been over four years I think it's best I start with a clean slate.
I used to post at another RM site (under a different name), but after lurking around different communities for a while I decided to stick with this one because I like how the game pages are laid out. Very useful.
I'm more of a graphics and art guy than a programmer, so my games may be more graphics and story heavy than a lot of custom systems, but I do look forward to sharing what I can with people who are interested, and I definitely can't wait to get back into the hobby! =)
