SAMURAITSUNDERE'S PROFILE

I'm an art student who's wanted to make video games for YEARS. I'm mainly on this site to get some tips on how to make better games with RPG Maker XP(the game engine I'm currently working with). This year, apart from making games with RMXP, I'll also be experimenting with a free 3D animation and game developement tool called "Blender"(One of my upperclassmen is a pro with this software and has made some pretty interesting stuff), and because it's a 3D developement tool, I'll be stepping up my laptop a notch -- gotta get something with a nice amount of memory, ram, and a decent processor(I REALLY don't want anything less than an i7). I've found a nice little model for about $800 that fits all these specs -- I hope to have this before the next 3 months are over, so wish me luck :D.

Oh, and I'm a geek(obviously) so I have a fanfiction.net account XD Ironically, it has the same user name as the one on this site, except with a space in it(Samurai Tsundere).

What is up with all the NAMES people come up with for their games?

I'm all for creativity. I LIKE it when people can come up with something unique.

But crap on a cracker, why do so many people use whimsical names? I'd understand if the name really had releavnce to the story -- like if you named a game "Nosferatu Atal" and that meant "The Hero's quest" in the game's native people's language -- it has a backstory, and a legitimate reason WHY it has such an unusual name -- it also calls people to it.

What I don't get? When games are called "Fantasical Wiplacia" for NO REASON. No backstory. No interesting quest -- the creator called it that because they "thought it would be cool". I mean, seriously, if I see another game with the words "Sliver" or "Wing" or "Emerald" or "Slash" or "WOLF" without much purpose, I'm going to lose it.

But then again, people have their own right to name their creations.

Is anyone working on a romance RPG at the moment?

I really like games like the Harvest Moon series, Avalon Code, and the Fable series -- anything that has romance/affection/marriage systems with a dose of action.

Is anyone working on such a game?

Is it possible to sync this site to your e-mail?

I've been wondering, since I just got my account yesterday, and It's been kind of unsettling to have to jump on my computer and actually come to the site and go into my posting history to see if someone's answered a question or one of my posts.

Is there are way to sync this to my e-mail so I can get alerts on my yahoo and ipod and whatnot?

I need an RPG Maker XP script/event formula for an affection system

I LOVE the Harvest Moon series, and I've wanted to make a game similar to it for a long time. I finally got RPG Maker XP a few months ago, and am starting my first game(a comedy RPG). I don't need it for my current game, but I need some way of making an affection system for games that I'll be making down the line. I'm a romantic, what can I say?

I have no idea how to script yet, so I'd prefer this be in events, if possible, but if you really have to, you can post a script that will do this.

So I need a list of events/script that will enable players to:

-Give gifts to a potential bachelor/ette
-Raise or lower affection whenever you give gifts to said bachelor/ette
-Raise only a certain AMOUNT of affection depending on what gift you give said bachelor/bachelorette
-Get different responses/text when you give different gifts(like, if you give someone a wedding ring at a cetain ammount of affection points, that person will either accept your proposal because points are high, or reject you because they're too low)
-Different events happening once you reach a certain ammount of affection/heart points(such as the bachelor/ette asking you out on a date, proposing, proposing you have a child, ect.)

Basically, anyone that's played Harvest Moon or anything with a marriage system in the game will know what I'm talking about. I'm not looking to make a romance/ren'ai game(I still like my action-y games like the Fable series and such), but that is something that I would like to have. I'd like my games to have plenty of things to do after you've finished them, or DURING the game just so that you can have SOMETHING deviate you away from the quest a little. It adds flavor ^_^

Thanks :D

I've known about this site FOREVER and finally decided to make an account.

Soooo, I've wanted RPG Maker XP for the longest. A family member finally bought it for me a few months ago for my birthday, and it was one of my favorite presents. I've started on a game, and haven't really worked on it much lately, but this year, I've decided, is a year to get things done. Make some games. Sell some stuff. Write some stories. SELL some stories. Get the picture?
