comment=37285comment=37242It should be expected if the game's creator comes out and essentially says that the map is perfect.
Damn.. you guys are just nitpicking the sh** out of this.
The maps creator did not know what a refmap is, therefor the maps creator did not understand the first comment and thought it was rather offensive. Now that I have poked around and asked about what refmaps are, I can confidently state that I understand just what exactly you guys are nitpicking about. My claim that I saw nothing wrong with the map is based off of the idea that a chipset is a chipset.
Whats the worst thing you ever saw in high school?
Refmap
An ATB system with a small change
The idea kinda reminds me of Demon's Souls stamina system. At least, the whole, regenerating/using it up after each action is taken.

Project Planning/Working Methods?
Quick personal question about this topic:
If the game is being done in the typical RPG style with multiple characters and intricate interweaving storyline, then I assume it would be best to write out the entire story on paper first, right?
I have this IDEA for my game, so would it be most beneficial for me to write it out from beginning to end with the basic skeletal backbone then add on the different story arcs and character development ploys? Should I even worry about the rpg maker part of this idea until the story is created and fine tuned?

Phanx Winter Contest Game
Phanxgames was amazing a few years ago before the site went down for Phantom to change things up. All thats left are forums, but it basically did the same thing this site does back when it was operating in its golden era.
Everyone was friendly there too -.-

Damn.. you guys are just nitpicking the sh** out of this. Sorry if it's so inconsistent. I whipped this together in a month... I'm not trying to break any records here guys.
I appreciate the points of conflict being pointed out to me, though. I may go back and try fixing the maps.. but this is the final area of my game, thus received the least amount of attention to detail mainly because the game doesn't go anywhere after this point.
And the arched roof building without a door is a tunnel-esque building. It leads to a set of docks.

The infinite terror of BattleChars
How did they do it back in the days of the old final fantasy's and other rpg games in the early 90's. Was it point and click mouse painting using a somewhat user friendly painting/sprite program which still required you to do everything by hand?
Carpel tunnel must have been the number one issue for spriters back then as the few sprite sheets i've made have caused my hand to feel numb after a few hours of doing it. lol

Refmap
Ahh! I've always known about this problem of having inconsistent maps .
Thank you for the input and the heads up on the refmaps.
What other styles of graphics are there with such coined names as 'refmap'?

Refmap
Yes that is the site I found... I guess I just didn't find that section in specific. Thank you! Is there some problem with using this style of graphics? I mean... isn't rpg maker made to use graphics such as these?
I honestly don't see the problem and am guessing this guy who commented just isn't a fan of refmap style chipsets/graphics.
