Hmm, I'm almost positive that's the version I was using, 1.0.7 AMD. But I'll reinstall and if it happens again I'll let you know.

Hello all. I didn't learn about this amazing remake until recently. I've been a Dragon Quest fan since I got my copy of Dragon Warrior 1 with a Nintendo Power subscription. To Ljink, thank you for this wonderful game and all the effort you put into it. And the work you did in releasing an AMD patch. It is much appreciated!
As for people who have controller issues, I just wanted to mention a program I use called Xpadder to map keyboard controls to my Xbox One blutooth controller I use with my PC. I use it to map the arrow keys to the gamepad in Dragon Quest + and it works great. It isn't a free program but it's relatively cheap. And there's other similar programs that map keyboard controls to joysticks and gamepads. Just thought I'd mention it in case it helped anyone out. Have a happy New Year all and stay safe!
