im a total noob

What he said. That's how I figured things out.

Cutscenes? {RPGXP}

Simple.

First of all, make the event an autorun. Second, make the main character's sprite empty. (go to change graphic, and basically select none). Then, do what you want to do. When the cutscene is over, activate a switch (and make another event page in which the condition is that this switch is on) to make sure it doesn't loop over and over again, or move them to the next map. Then, when all this is over, change the graphic of your main character's sprite back to the one it was before you turned it to none.

Best Boss Fights

Also ShadowFox the boss your thinking off is Salazar

That's it... thanks a bunch!

Best Boss Fights

LoZ: TP - Zant, I know this was mentioned before, but this is one of my favorite Zelda bosses of all time. Sure, there wasn't much difficulty to it, but there was such variety in the boss fight that I just loved fighting him. Especially on the iron boot, Goron Mines stage and the very end when he's spinning at you like a frickin' maniac...

LoZ: TP - That one underwater boss with the eyeball... <.< I can't remember his name. The thing I loved about this was I got to stab the damn thing in the eye... I couldn't get enough of that. STAB. HIM. IN. THE. EYE!

Chrono Trigger - Lavos Final Battle. That thing was crazy hard to beat. Plus, it tricked you into thinking the guy in the middle was the main boss, when it was really the right bit. Plus, he had a whole bunch of hp, a whole bunch of status inflicting moves, and he was just a big pain in the ass. I was so happy when he FINALLY went down. On a side note, most of the later bosses in Chrono Trigger games I just loved as well... they were fun.

RE4 - Castle Final Boss (damn it, I once again can't remember the name!). Okay, there's just some satisfaction with beating this guy. After all the crap that you have to put up in the castle. You finally get the satisfaction of not only killing one of the most annoying characters in the game (at the very least, he annoyed me to hell), but you get to do it in a rather hard boss battle if you don't know what you're doing. There's just some satisfaction in taking out that Revolver (Broken Butterfly) and blasting it in his face.

Hmm... I can't think of any more...

Computer Virus

I got this thing last night. Pissed me off it did. It was more annoying then it was actual trouble... not even sure how I got it, as I don't go to a whole many websites, and never tried to "install" anything (although, this could've been my dad's fault...) Eventually, though... my dad just restored the computer from a previous date... which got rid of all the problems since the computer had no memory of all this on the 10th.

Floating Island Chipset

I found one once, but I can't find it again. Also... this is for XP, not that it should make any difference. =/

Floating Island Chipset

Okay, I've looked in a lot of places on the web, but I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Discussion of Multiple Things

What do you think is more suited for games, the ability to save anywhere or save points throughout the game?

Do you think you should level up more easily in the beginning, at the end, or the same experience curve throughout the whole game?

Swords V.S Guns, what do you think is more preferrable and do you think you could combine both of them.

1)a.It all depends on the game, to me. In some, it makes complete sense, while in others, being able to save anywhere is more helpful. For example, in the Resident Evil games, being able to save only in specific areas makes it much harder, and as it's a survival game, adding in limited ink ribbons makes it that much harder. Players need to think to make it through the game, and know when to use their items, including their various guns and ammo.
b.
On RPGs, if there's an overworld, then saving anytime there should be alright, but once your in a dungeon, make save points.

2)I think it should either be easy-hard curve, or a medium-medium curve. However, when it comes to bosses, have two bosses at the very end, one extremely hard, and one generally relaxed. That way, once you've said, yes! I beat it, they'll think they'll get creamed in the second fight, only to find out that it isn't as bad as they think. Plus, you can basically "walk" your way to the very end of the game after going through the last major challenge the game has to offer.

3)Personally, I think both should apply, but, it really depends on the setting.

Creating Mini-Maps (XP)

Wow... really? If someone could please allow this, I would really appreciate it.

Creating Mini-Maps (XP)

I've noticed in many games that maps or mini-maps are created, and even show your current location. I would like to know how it's done, if it's not too much trouble.
