Just started playing, but I have to get this off my chest: The kerning of your "m" character is horrible. It looks like an entire space. Is there a way to fix that?
E: Owl and Alchemist, going attack style Alchemist. Holy cow is Stephan absurdly difficult. The battle was going well when he did over half the health of both my guys in one shot.

Fair enough. The only two enemies (not counting running into the final boss too early) that I wasn't able to defeat on contact were Dante and the guy with the Shaco clones. Came back when I was able to nuke them clean. I guess a different path would have made taking out the minions every round impractical.

I'm speaking from memory, so I might have this wrong. There was a heart boss that would revive the two side minions. Francisco will tell you to just leave the heart alone and wallop on the side minions. I tried doing this, but noticed it was much more effective to just focus down the heart and status the minions. Further, if you wiped out both minions, the heart only revived one at a time.
Perhaps you could increase the defenses on the heart so we have to rely more on it killing itself? Would it be possible to make it use two actions to revive both minions if they're both dead?

Not many fights have that plurality of enemies. My strat was to use insanity on the far right one, and beat down on the left one. Occasionally I'd sleep the middle one. Insanity is a really great status in that fight.
Wine & Roses
The equipment being limited is part of the strategy. Insanity and Slumber Point always felt useful for me, though. Maybe it was just the way I set it up.
When fighting the Ordeal, I noticed something fun. If you cast a life steal spell, the process goes like this: Damage, reflection damage, girl dies, girl regenerates health, girl is no longer dead. In other words, spam Decripify and Judgement, win.

I just treated the Devourer as if he were the Angel enemy: nuke him before he can kill us.
The non-linearity of the game hurts that battle and a couple other fights in this way. I didn't have that particular status element at that point. When I went to fight the skeleton enemy group, I didn't have insanity. I don't think I even had blind when I was fighting the jester and those Shacos, so I didn't understand why he said not to blind him. Silly stuff like that.
Though I guess it worked as intended: usually whenever I saw that I was underequipped for a fight, I would escape and wander more.

Could have probably finished it before the solar avatar came out. It gets to the point where you can just nuke everything with shooting stars. Holding back was getting me killed, though.

Ach. Killed the final boss a twinge early. I have no idea what happened at the end, and I kind of feel left out now. I took twelveish turns to do it? Had just summoned the two dusk monster things. Either way, I compulsively saved over my file, so I'm locked out from finding what exactly happened in the remaining turns.
Absolutely beautiful design, by the way. Other than the mansion itself, those were some of the most fun fights I've ever had (until I learned to just sleep abuse), and fighting Yellow/Indigo/Red was one of the most entertaining battles in any game I've played.
