This is insanely good. The poses seem kinda wonky, but I guess freezing most action shots would look weird.

Since a planets rings are made up of materials left over during the forming of said planet, maybe the type of ring visible in the sky corresponds with more of a certain type of ore being found on the game map?

I'm curious, what are you struggling with and how are you implementing it? Tiles or pixel? I could offer some suggestions and help on getting this working with pictures and pixel movement.
