In the black bar along the bottom are your stats. This is just an early setup, they will be labeled appropriately in the game. The blue number is your Accuracy. The purple number is your Evasion.
When you lay flat, they both rise a little. Not sure what the extra 15% ACC will do though...always critical hit maybe?
When you hit an enemy, a red number shows how much damage you dealt. The damage from each gun will always be the same because I can't be bothered to create a free form system of enemy DEF values and calculations then displaying a variable number with pictures.
You can see the cross-hairs have turned green because I'm targeting something that is shoot-able. The same would happen if you target the bird that flies across the screen.

im not talking about the hunger mechanic. im talking about having a bunch of pointless ways to make food rendering the game mechanic shallow. pretty much everything about minecraft is shallow. it's fun in small doses but i don't think i could play it endlessly without getting bored.
but whatever you wanna do. there's no point in discussing this
- bland
after being able to plant one thing, that has no purpose, stop working on it.
- confusing
add too many elements that don't make sense and don't mimic actual farming
- and mediocre.
see minecraft
:P you dont have to listen to me, obviously, but im still going to suggest what i would like to see

doing the following is the quickest way to make something...

farming in minecraft wasn't all that useful. what you just described is incredibly basic and shallow as a game mechanic.
the best way to get food, imo, is killing cows and pigs and cook em. one small session of killing and baking creates stacks of meat that lasts for hours and its not hard to acquire the ingredients on the go to do it all. so why plant grass to grow wheat to make bread or cake? that's the easier ones to acquire. the other things you can plant are rare like cocoa beans and potatoes. the point of them is to make food to eat, but none of them are better overall than cooked meat so there is no incentive to work harder for it.
there are a few cool uses for farming, like making stuff for potions, but thats not enough to make farming as a whole fun and useful and deep. it's kind of a waste of time unless you want potions but even the need for potions isn't all that great.
you get to hoe ground, and plant stuff, but it doesn't serve to further my goal in minecraft(mine and build structures and explore and fight baddies to reach the dragon).
im no MC expert, so that may just be my opinion because i dont know all the uses for it. i did browse the farming section of the wiki real quick tho, and i dont see anything great.
there is tons of room to make something more accessible and interesting. more seeds to plant, with a large number of common ones to make the simple stuff have more than 1 or 2 good uses. then have more rarer stuff harder to find but make the benefit of it equally rewarding so it's balanced and the incentive is there. some kind of fertilizer that affects the growth rate and yield or even the end product. more recipes. ffxi has a shit ton of a recipes. so baking, when specialized, has a huge widespread benefit in battle because food in that game only gives stat boosts. and since this game has battles, there is an opportunity to tie in farming to add depth to the game.
i havent played terraria yet

it's nice to have farming, but please make it useful and worthwhile. same goes for every added feature. i like minecraft but i hate shallow the gameplay is. it could be so much better. (just mentioning MC cause it's similar, i know this is not MC)
obviously i dont know what you have planned, i'm just saying this ahead of time either way.
a few "easy" things to make it "better" would be having skill levels. farming gives farm exp and high farm lvls are needed to make the best stuff. plus farming could provide a "free" way to make useful items like healing but to take it step further make edibles that give HP and stat buffs like STR+. something to make it really worthwhile. maybe you can sell harvest or crafted food stuff to NPCs to make money.
i dunno, that's what i would do if i was in charge of gameplay mechanics(and that's actually something i already made in my FF gameboy 2k3 clone :3). thats the kind of thing i hope to see in the games i play. maybe you don't want it so RPG, but considering that there is battles it would be great to see here.
ffxi had skill levels for each weapon type and skill(like gaurd, evade..) that would go up as you use them. im a big fan of that mechanic. but i ramble...

nice
that's not really necessary. maybe if the value was in the millions commas would help readability.
it doesn't look bad tho

but the comma does make the value easier to read?

Just to be nitpicky, true 8-bit wouldn't overlay the big tree over the bushes.
that's ok. i'm not trying to make a true 8-bit game

they are dungeon pieces, so normally they wouldn't be there. i don't think it looks too bad.
yeah, i know about the palette. i'll get around to working on color at some point. was always just focused on form and everything else like coding.
thanks for the comment~

I will use the 8-bit graphics which I will credit the submitter for later.and who might that be?
because that is my red mage wizrobe as you can see in the following image from my game page and i don't recall submitting it to anyone

the treasure chest in your other screenshot looks like the one i made as well, which is an edit of the LttP chest graphic.
