@Deacon Sorry to hear that! It's worth pointing out this is completely non-commercial and as I say in the original competition post, it's not like the sort of competitions that "marketing schemes" come up with to try and sell you stuff - I don't make any profit out of this. It's for fun and I thought some people from here would be interested. The more the merrier, as they say.

@Marrend I think my competition is a bit different... this is a whole game you're making, not level designing, and it's open to any programming language or game creation program. Plus we currently already have 46 people signed up to compete after three days with more than a week to go before the competition even starts.

@Shinan That is a confusing rule, I grant you, I'm going to clarify that. Basically, yes you can use open source stuff, hence the "if you have permission" rule. The rule you're referring to is just mainly to stop people submitting games they've already made well in advance - not exactly fair, I'm sure you understand.
