Forcing an actor to enter a state rather than guard in RMXP

I can't figure out a way to do this for the life of me.
As the title implies, I need script to make the "guard" command switch the user between a higher attack and higher defense form using a state.
So 1st use = attack form, second use = defense form, thrid use = attack form, etc.


I want to do this because I also have a script in the works that restores MP based on damge taken. so entering high attack mode recharges your MP faster.

If it's something you scripted in, you'll probably need to call a script to change the values. Exactly how are you targetting who's who with this? If every possible combo between characters is unique to a single pair, that'll probably become a lot easier.


yes, every combo attack is matcxhed to a unique pair. so combo one is actor_id 1 and actor id 2,
and combo 2 is actor Id 2 and actor id 3

That could work... I'll try that.
But what if it's lowering something I modded into the code myself? something that isn't in the games default paramaters/stats?
Like a MInd Mower stat and a Soul Power stat?

Touhou is a bullet hell shooter with lots of story to it.
Whoda thunk it? :P

I personally have not played nearly as many of the games as I would like, (because I suck at space shooters, and am terribly uncoordinated,) but I have a "resource guy" who knows the canon of the game in his sleep helping me write the story and plot. He doesn't exactly know how to code, but I'm getting better. :) So basically, he gives this game life, while I give it form. And we both give it a face, 'cuz if we find some good sprites or w/e we both just save them. :P

But the games are fun, maddeningly difficult, and have huge stories with tons of recurring characters.
Perfect for and RPG translation. :P

Sorry, but I love the idea of making fangames.

I feel like plugging for my Touhou fangame here. Hopefully you guys can help me do right what other people who make fangames do horribly wrong. ;o

making two actors use MP for an attack in RMXP

I have a script where two certain characters, and two OTHER certain charcters can team up and unleash an attack by draining both of thier MP to zero (or thier HP by half, maybe). Either way, I can't figure out how to make this "combo attack" consume two actor's HP or MP, much less the correct two.

Any help with a way to specify how to reduce an actors MP and another actors MP to zero (with scripting) would be appreciated. :)
