Looking at things a bit differently.
I just think that endings are bad.
I've always hated endings, even if there's a good ending i can't seem to like it.

Ah yes the famous ring, Squall running into the building after he just saves Rinoa from falling off the schools Garden Festival area and has to run into the base where he talks about the ring, thus you get to name the ring which never get's mentioned at all in the end and has no reasoning to it having a name.
