No prob. I can see this game becoming really good if you fix up a few things. If you haven't submitted this to the site yet i suggest you do and i'll write a proper review when it get's accepted.

The demo only took me about 45 minutes to complete.

Woot! 45 mins ... alot more than I expected :)

Back up the truck here, fellas. I agree that the moderators are being too harsh. I don't know what it is about this topic that caused the "noob filter" reflex to kick in, but I don't think it's necessarily warranted here. The topic follows the rules, he gives character descriptions, screenshots, and a brief story summary. I don't know if you guys noticed or not, but this game was made a few years ago. As an earlier RM effort, I don't think the maps are novice, and the character art, while inconsistent, doesn't bother me. I don't really think "consistent art that doesn't come from popular games or gtfo" should be a rule. And Rasta was right; there wasn't any constructive criticism being made, and he was made to sound like a whiner.

Don't get me wrong, you guys are great mods, and I've always counted on you to be the voice of reason before when things get out of hand. I guess what I want to say is that I hope Rasta isn't deterred from showing off his work. I can, and I'm sure others can, appreciate the relatively light scope of the plot and effort on innovating gameplay.

As I did say (Which you pointed out) I made this game years ago. I'm 19 now, and the first time i sat down to create this project was back when i was just entering high school. The character art might be inconsistent, but this was my first game ever ... anyone (at my age, at the time) would go around grabbing facesets / charasets and use them if they worked out fine. Now with VX, i use generators. So my character art is more consistent i guess you can say.

And yes I was a bit deterred from showing off my work, even from continuing this project all together ...
I started this topic excited to show my game to the world! Since I went around my school showing it off to my friends who gave me nothing but thumbs ups and "Your amazing!"

Not saying I want you all to praise this project by trying to be "Nice". Just saying I'd rather one solid page of constructive criticism then 100 pages of false praise ...

I actually downloaded without the screenshots earlier, but uh...

I couldn't really handle the japanese phrases lifted from some random anime at every sentence. And game witout sound/music = sad panda.

So I can't really comment on anything apart from suggesting you get rid of those voices asap.

Just something i thought would have been interesting ... I'll see what others have to say about it ... since I myself like it, but if others do not i will remove it in my future VX remake of this ...

Being a musician myself, I edited many of the midis to have different styles in different times of the day ... so there is music. I'm going to have to check that out ... if the music is not working then the game will surely fail, but music works fine on my comp

And no don't get the "Cheat codes" wrong ... the game works fine without them, as does it work fine with them (I sure hope) they are not workarounds / fixes to things that are broken ... nothing is broken ... as I warned these "Cheats" will possibly break things ...
The only fix "Cheat" is the midi changer. But keep in mind that the only time the wrong midi will be playing is when you use the "Time manipulation cheat" So its not really a fix to the game itself, its actually a fix to the cheat, if anything should go wrong ... but then again you can just use it to listen to another midi, so it doesn't really have to be a fix (If you have not used cheats)

These cheats were originally for me only, for me to test stuff mainly.(Running, Time manipulation, pwning the swimming test because doing it 100 times gets annoying) ...But then I said hey, if these things are working correctly, why not release them. I know you don't wanna walk around all day, running is so much faster. (But is unfinished)

Maybe I didn't spend alot of time thinking with this project, but i most defiantly spent alot of time working on this project, so i think its unfair to judge whether or not I worked hard on this project.
Have you actually played it yet? Don't judge a book by its simplistic, generic, inconsistent, unprofessional, Novice cover ... (All the words you guys have shot at me XD) Give it a try please ... I did spend a lot of time on it and its less than 6mb, what do you have to lose ...

You defiantly made this game? What, against all criticism asking you not to?

Ok, all joking aside, if you upload it to the site, so I may write a proper review, i'll be happy to check it out, and hopefully not confirm my fears.

I do like constructive criticism, but only if the person tells me what to improve on ... all he said was novice maps, I have no idea what is novice about the maps ??? (What to add, what to take out?) ... i thought my maps were pretty well made (Guess not)

EDIT: I have not played Suikoden ... that really is a girl? I'm terribly sorry ... It always looked like a small boy to me.
