I wouldn't call it difficult, but it can be challenging and time consuming balancing 'real' life, a job, responsibilities, social life, love life, and other hobbies with effectively making a game in decent time.

You should think about jumping up to VX. Scripting makes things A LOT easier... seriously.
I first made that battle system in RM2k3 and it took me over a year to complete it, but making it in VX took a few months.

Anyone else go to Overclocked Remixes (http://www.ocremix.org/)? I love that site, as it contians some really clever remixes of all sorts of video game OSTs, including some old school stuff, like Bionic Commando, Donkey Kong, or Paperboy. True it's got it's bad stuff on it, stuff I'm nto crazy about, but overall, I found the stuff on that site to be pretty good.
Of course we know about OCREMIX zOMG!
Seriously though, most of those remixes are amazing! Anyone who doesn't know about that site and loves OSTs for games should check it out right now.
