Yeah but what I'm saying is vx resources can be hard to come by. Well ok rpgmakervx.net has alot but still. I do agree with you about the title screen though, that was a bit of an eyesore and the default music in RMVX isn't all that great either. When I first got RMVX I didn't even know there were resources for it. I know I'm probably offending some of you guys so sorry if I am.

Well this is embarrassing... I saw that thread directly after I posted this one, heh heh

The Best RM Game You've Played On Here

The title says it all. What's the best game you've played on this site? For me it would have to be One Night 3 for RMVX.

You know, I don't get why people bash games that use the RTP so much especially since vx resorces aren't as common as say RM2K3 resources. If it's their first game cut them some slack using the RTP isn't that bad though the creator could make some more items and monsters and needs to really improve the story but as for using the RTP graphics I think you guys really over exaggerate.

Party Selector in RM2K3

Meh that's ok. I started out with rpg maker vx and I could always use party selecting scripts with that but for this particular project I wanna use rm2k3 so that's why I'm seeking advice on how to do this.

Ok, here's what you should do:

Seems like you're using savepoints (I hate them, but that's your choice). When you reach a save point, have two options: save / change party. Or maybe more options, if you like.

If you select change party, it teleports you to a map. It may be a real HQ, or something like this:

An empty map with a panorama and all your characters.

After that, have an exit point to go back to your save point.

You'll probably need to use the "memorize teleport position" command, or something like that.

Another way to do this would be using a common event. You can have an item (something like a party changing crystal) that activates a switch. The switch activates a common event that teleports you to the party changing map. That should be about the same, except that you would be able to change your party anywhere, not only on save points.

So does the memorize teleport position command like bring you back to where you were last when you exit the map because I don't wanna create dozens of maps just to change my party and I think I'd rather do it via the item than a savepoint. Also, where did you get that panorama that looks really cool

I've always wonderd if you could make it so you can select them from the menu but that's probably hard to do right? I would like it that way. As for the HQ thing I was making a game that had that because it was mission based until my computer broke and I lost it. but the game I currently working on is a traditional style rpg not mission based. Since I haven't a clue about how to make it be accessable from the menu I guess a room would be the easiest but what's the best way to go about it just make said room on every map?

Is it possible to use a combination of common events and switches so like if a certain switch is on that member can be selected nd put the option at savepoints?
