I also have the same problem with the new download to.
EDIT: just had to change it to 256, my bad i have like 4 selections for bmp.

I got the latest patch, and have had a few battles that worked. However one near the chocobo forest gave me an error like cannot find graphic/grassland and crashed, if i see it again ill copy it down.
EDIT: Unable to find file Graphics/battlebacks/grasslands01
