Once again, The Takuto Multimedia Ebook is a kind of experiment in where I am trying to create a full fantasy world in a more attractive form than text only.

Even though it has graphics, including backgrounds and characters, music and sound effects and occasionally (hopefully) voice acting, it is still a book through and through. So, if you're expecting something that has a little more animation, you may have to look elsewhere. Even so, I would ask you to please give it a chance, if you will.

It still should be more entertaining than if it were to be just text. Thanks again for taking your time to read through these episodes. One episode will be released every week.

EDIT: Alright, I've gathered enough 'data' from this little experiment to create some good improvements.

I'm going to be re-releasing Episode 1 with a bunch of improvements, mostly cutting down on dialogue by making it optional to read it like a book or view it more like a manga/dating-sim kind of style.

Takuto OST 1 Lite - Including 3 bonus tracks from Bleach, Eureka 7 and Princess Mononoke

Of all my years composing, this is my very first full album release. I always wanted to compose for an epic video game or anime-like project, so making my own was really the only path I could think of. There will be much more to come in the future, as there are certain melodies I can't wait to get to.

It's not the BEST OF THE BEST, but I do believe that you will find many things to enjoy if you give it a fair chance. =)

About the Album:

Takuto OST 1 Lite is the free version of the Original Soundtrack to the Indie Anime Series (even though it's all storyboards) "Takuto". A couple notes:

- Shorter songs and lower bitrate to make it compact/easily-downloadable
- Includes 37. Fighting which you will NOT find on the commercial Album, due to copyright laws.
- Includes 3 bonus tracks that I won't be able to sell... from Princess Mononoke, Eureka 7, and Bleach
- Includes Iris Wisterias rendition of "Nature" (the ending theme for the first 6 episodes)

I'm starting here with a fresh topic. Takuto is an Indie Anime Series created only with tablet. (First with RPG Maker or Pixel-Art, then with only Pencil (the ever so epic Episode 4) and then with tablet from Episode 5 on) I used to want to make a pixel-like game out of it, now I just want to compose and write for an anime series.

Forgive my artwork, it's not the best.

Series Description: Takuto has a dream to become a pro mage, but the problem is that he's failed the exams for the school he wants to join for three consecutive years. He will now try for his fourth year.

Within Takuto a Professional Magician is kind of like a way to describe a kung fu artist that has the ability to cast magic to help him out in a Match. Battling or Fighting is played as a Competitive Sport. Not the dark way you might think (like to the death), but rather a fun bright and exciting game.

To be able to become a Professional, it would mean that you have to get into the rosers within the 'Big Leagues'. Takuto has definitely been inspired by competitive sports, in that the uniqueness of every character is brought to light through their styles and techniques of battle.

Takuto and another certain someone, Episode 4 ending is where I finally bought a tablet.

The magic of the world works through Astrology. There are three signs for each element that determine your magical ability or element. Fire is Aries Lea and Saggitarius. Earth is Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. Air is Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. Water is Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

I really don't like hollywood previews, for the most part due to the fact that I'm a musician.

I really couldn't tell you who created that chinese war drum beat for previews, or who started the cliche build up build up build up PAH!, but appearently it "involves" people or something.

The Original Soundtrack for Takuto: Songs for the Week

As a method of getting my music "out there", I'll be releasing a 3 track mini-compilation for the soundtrack that I've been working on now for 3 years. :-)

The first disc to go through is entitled 'Takuto OST 1'. (You can see where I'm going with this)

The Fruit of Life
- If you've seen Takuto, you know it's the very first song that plays within the series. Entitled "The Fruit of Life", it was a song that would play as it would show just how crappy Takutos life has been for the last 4 years. The very first comic was a slideshow made in The Games Factory. This was the first time (I think it was...June of 2005) the song was used.
I'm sure that you'll get the drift. It's jolly, happy, tra-la-la-la, things couldn't be any better music for juxtupositions sake.

Freedom Speaks Version 2
- This was originally the second opening for the series, though I moved it to the first as the second one is really shoujo-ish/cutesy. It will probably work better once you're 13 episodes in and have already absorbed the overall feeling of the osts. There have been 18 Versions done of this song since August 2008. This version was cut down / is more mellow than the rock versions that I've tried for.

Freedom Speaks Version 1
- Actually, within the behind-the-scenes rns files that were done this was the 8th take, so it's actually the 8th version. I just had to entitle it as the 1st as it is probably the closest I will ever get to having a pretty full sound right off the bat.

Well, no matter what the reception, I've always wanted to release this here. So here it goes....

Takuto (Series)

Takuto is an Animated ~~Movie~~ Series created with RPG Maker featuring custom artwork and music, a pretty in depth story. The visual format is 2d rpg pixel-like characters with hand-drawn cutscenes. Forgive my visual artwork (inconsistency and lack of skill), I am not the best; I am still a student.

A couple things to note before you watch!

There have been a great number of games that either fall into the category of "Dark" or "Comedy" though few in between (and I'm not saying that that's a bad thing). I've seen loads of stories and games that focus mainly on saving a dark dark world. If this is the kind of story you want to get into, you may have to look elsewhere.

My main inspirations are those that have a love for Anime. I'm looking to connect with those that have a love for bright blue skies, cute characters and comedy but also have an edgey taste for shounen battling such as in Naruto, Pokemon or Shaman King.

Those that have a hate for Japanese Anime, for Bright blue skies, rainbows and fuzziness I have to at least try to request that you look elsewhere. There are plenty of games among other projects that have the stories that you are looking for.

It's a Firey Battle Theme kind of song inspired by none other that Nobuo Uematsu's Final Fantasy soundtracks. It plays towards the end of the Part (video). The synth pad line is also original.

No the drawing isn't the best, but I'm a composer first. x_x

In the world of Takuto "Professional Magician" is a lot less like the Harry Potter term, and a lot more like a way to describe a Kung Fu artist that is able to cast magic to aid him in a "match". 'Fighting' or 'Battling' is played as a sport, like a game though not expressed in the dark way you would think; rather a fun/bright/exciting game than a game to the death.

To become a Pro, it would mean you have to make it onto the rosters in the 'Big Leagues'. The World of Takuto has definitely been inspired by sports and competition, in that the uniqueness of every individual is brought out through their own styles/technique of 'play'.

The magic of the world works pretty simply. The astrological sign you were born under determines your element. There are 3 for each of the 4 elements. Fire is: Aries, Leo, Saggitarius. Earth is: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. Wind (replaced with air for the sake of it's physical attributes) is: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius, and Water is: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.

Takuto is a Video Webcomic. Well...it is actually a Machinima, but I like the term "Video Webcomic"....I find Machinimas include series like Red Vs Blue and First Person Shooter type games.

The astrological signs are also said to inhibit personality traits, although for the most part that is left out within this series. If personalities make sense astrologically to you, it is most likely through coincidence. -_o'

In the very beginning of creating this production and even now, my goal was to take the competitive firey nature of the Manga/Anime's Naruto and Bleach (manga prefered) and mix them with the light-heartedness of Love Hina and/or Negima.

In other words, the series is a Shounen-Shoujo Cross-breed, and this is able to be accomplished by the styles of music that I have mixed into the story. Openings are Shoujo creating that "Fresh Bright Blue Sky and Clean Spring Air" feeling, Endings are Mystery Genre, creating that "Midnight Magic" feeling which I think is perfect for saying 'good night' (ending the show) and the story itself is Shounen like Naruto.

That description as well as the following Videos of Episode 1 should be enough to get you started in getting the feel for Takuto.
