SMT: Devil Survivor

I just finished up my 2nd playthrough.. def the best DS RPG title I've played and totally took care of the strat rpg fix I was looking for you.

The following is fact:

The enemy team will rape you with a sandpaper condom. No lube. Which some "uber hardcore" may enjoy, in reality it blows.

If you're anti grinder and on your first play-through here's what I recommend. Do the free battle with ONLY the MC and build up his levels equal to the enemy. Just take out one leader, hit retreat, then repeat. Woah that was catchy. Doing so will raise the fuse cap so you can actually get companions equal to who you are fighting. Unfortunately, the game takes away exp if your level is higher than the enemies keeping challenge and preventing one character being too strong.

I didn't figure this out till half way through the game but take advantage the suspend save feature. It doesn't kick you to the main menu or delete when you load. This way if you get totally screwed with a stone/ instant death just reload. Kind of a bitch move but good to know when you're not in the mood to repeat 30 mins of battling over a cheapshot like that.

If those zealots are giving you trouble wait for Beldr hahaha

Don't get too down on yourself. One day you'll be like the guy from Accepted and blow shit up with your mind.

Artist Offering Pro Bono Work!

hey Cahrull,

Do you have an email address I can reach you at? I tried sending you a message a few days ago through the site and kept getting errors.

Does Anyone Not Finish Games They Purchase?

Seems like I've only beaten 1/5 of all the games I own. I can recall multiple instances of getting to the final dungeon in an rpg and dropping the game all together before finishing it. Anybody else do this?

Sounds like a nice rig you got there, Keith. What VST are you using, if any? Don't tell me you plan on using analog recording for everything!

Hah no way man! 97% of everything will be done using digital samples taken from either Logic's or Reason's library. The only audio recording being done would be for either guitar or vocal parts. I don't use many VST plugins outside of what comes with Logic. Since Reason doesn't support plugins I occasionally rewire it to Logic, but that's only if I'm after a certain sound. Besides I've got about 25 gigs worth of refills so most the time it's not necessary. In case you were curious, the first 3 tracks were done in Reason and the last 2 in Logic.

My set up includes a MacBookPro(the sex) equipped with Logic, Digital Performer(though I never use it) , Drumcore, Reason, Recycle, and Finale. I'm hoping to have Pro Tools M-Powered within a few months.

Most mixing is done using my factory Ipod earbuds.... just playing. I use both KRK Monitors and Sennheiser studio phones. Pretty much everything is made with whichever midi controller is closest and and a M-Audio Trigger Finger for drum parts.

Gotta say Ministry of Rock definitely has some pretty convincing guitar samples.

I should mention a few things not included in the original post.

We are both currently enrolled at Berklee College of Music giving us access to 100's of musicians for any extra audio recording. In addition, I have a friend who will master the entire OST before the games release. We'll be creating the music using Reason 4.0 and Logic Pro 8- two professional digital audio sequencing programs.

However, if someone who frequents in this community (let's use brandon abley as an example) made a topic wanting to make the soundtrack for someone's game, most people would jump all over the offer.

That may be true, but our styles are very different from one another. My impression of Brandon's music, based off the two soundtracks I've checked out, is that it has a much more "traditional" sound while mine has more of a contemporary feel. Neither is better than the other, it all depends on what you're looking for.

Sure, I may be new to posting on this board- I'm not to rpg maker games. Heck, I used to be a Mod on Agetec's forums when they released rpg maker for the ps1. Yeah. THAT OLDSCHOOL.

Believe me when I say I'm 10,000% all for this project and have every intention to be there till the end.
