[Poll] Rpg games with drawn or picture backgrounds.
I have been working on a few rpgs where I don't use tiles or the RPg at all but instead of picture in the background. Picture backgrounds have been used in games like Ultima and Final Fantasy PSX games.
Do you think that the idea can translate well to Rpg Maker? I have been working on a few games using picture backgrounds, and for the most part, if I draw, or find a picture at the correct angle, it seems tow ork quite well.

Rpg maker 2003
What are the requirements for Rpg maker 2003 for character sets so there isn't a nice block around them? Haven't used it in awhile.
Movies in 2011
Well, it's been 2011 for awhile now. Along with some movies. We had some interesting movies in 2010, but a lot of them in my opinion, could have been better. What movies do you think you might be interested in that are out/coming so far in the year 2011? Hopefully I will see more movies this year then last.
If you had to choose or would be killed...
Would you choose to take $1,000,000 but you are not allowed to have any form of insurance, or Would you take insurance that covers everything and you don't need to pay, but you can only work at jobs paying $8.25 and hour?
If you had to choose or you would be killed...
Which RTP Music sound track do you think is the best of them all? (They are all horrible, but remember, you don't want to be killed.)
I personally think XP and 2003 are tied because they each have 3-4 good songs on there sound tracks. 95 i just horrible, and VX only has like 2 tracks that can be listened to without screaming.

The Real Great Purge II
Nominating is necessary in order to get a collective public vote. If not everyone agrees with the game being purged, it won't be. But, if just the staff were in charge, games that people may like or enjoy maybe purged leading to site wide MUTINY.
Or something like that.
How about that Lost Legacy: An Animania Story? I don't have a link but most members know of the game if I recall. Might try and find a link later.
Nominating could work, what do you guys think?
2010 gaming choice
This is 2010, and it's time to find out what your favorite game of 2010 is.
Personally, I find Halo Reach to be one of the best games I've played in 2010. It looked nice, and played like many of the previous Halo games.
It also had an interesting plot for a Prequel to the series. Most prequels in my opinion end up not doing so well.
It also had great multi-player and some nice weapons. Better than Black ops multi-player mode.
Infact, I enjoyed it so much, that I still don't understand how Black Ops sold so much so fast when the hype of the last Bungie halo game was upon them.

Old School Debate. CTR Vs. MK64, VS. DKR, Vs. SP
What was your favorite Kart racing game in the Ps1/N64 era. The 4 games usually argued about are:
Crash Team Racing.
Mario Kart 64
Diddy kong racing, and last but not least:
Speed Punks (Or Speed Freaks in Europe, but I think Punks is actually a better title but...)
Or any other game not mentioned.
I found that Crash Team Racing was the best game at the time, It looked better and had more track detail then all the other games.
It has fair weapons, an advanced boostng system, power sliding, platforming time actions, shortcuts, and ways to get around the competition. In this case, you actually need to use skill to win races instead of luck 80% of the time. (Talking to you MarioKart.)
Sure, Speed punks had great kart control. But CTR had LEGENDARY KART control. Kart racing to this day doesn't have the kart control of CTR! (Or Speed Punks either)
More characters with different track characteristics.
Fun boss battles, and in a racing game, you usually don't see boss'
It uses Polygonal characters (Like SP and DKR) Mario Kart used Sprites.)
It had a great versus and arcade mode.
Heck, it had more modes in general.
Multiplayer is a tie between Speed Punks and CTR. Both were fantastic.
CTR had the best battle mode (And most fair battle mode) Of all choices.
Oh, and a 1 player story mode that progressed in the game complete with exploration better than DKRS and the fact that the tracks have a lot of replay value because of CTR tokens and Time trial races.
So CTR get first for me.
Second goes to Speed Punks since it has great kart control, just some tracks don't take advantage of it. Speed Punks also had a real interesting boost system as well.
3rd would be DKR, as it had adventuring and better kart control in some cases as well. It also had better track designs then Mario Kart.
Mario Kart is 4th for various reasons, but the most important are it's multi-player. Without it, Mario Kart wouldn't be in the argument. It virtually has no single player mode, and the karts don't animate very well. It looks worse in some cases then Gex: Enter the Gecko, which was a fun game with good music, but it looked like ****e. It's weapon system is completely unfair that you need luck most of the time to win. It's multi-player is also completely unfair in a lot of cases (Stars and Red Shells should not be in battle mode at ALL.) Also, Karts control like the drivers are on crack.
It isn't a, "It's Nintendo so it sucks" thread since I know people are going to say that, but I really find Crash Team racing to be the best Kart racer that gen, and in some cases, this gen as well. They took MKart and DKR, twisted it up, and made it into a legendary game. Which ironically, was the last Crash game made by Naughty Dogg.
Speed Punks tried to be a relaxing racing game and that really made off as well.
For those Sony/Nintendo haters, Mario Kart was played for a long time before Crash Team Racing was played. I value opinions, you can like Speed Punks, even DKR more than crash, or Mkart. But if I hear anyone say that Mkart is better than CTR you obviously have no clue what you are talking about.
