I'm having a hard time with the script known as XS - Pre Title. When I first used this script it would work just fine on my FF7 game, but now it won't work. I though maybe the issue was another script interfering, but I deleted all the scripts except for the XS - Pre Title, and still it doesn't work.
However I tried something else out... I created a new project and put the XS - Pre Title script into the game, and it worked. But when I try it on FF7, it doesn't work. This confuses me because if it's not due to other scripts causing the problem, then what could it be?

Guys I know I don't have the best track record when it comes to releasing games, and I understand the fear of the game never being finished, but my track record is due to data lose. This time I have back up. I promise I'll finish it, no matter how long it takes. I believe once you get the sprites out of the way the game is pretty much finished because I'm going to copy direct dialog from the game. If anyone (including you max) wants to help out you can. Making battle animations like fire, cure, thunder, etc, or helping make the skills. Those are the two things that will take sometime for this game. I'm copying actual game item, weapon, monster, writing, and character stats. I'm even copying mp cost and skill damage perhaps. So in my opinion this shouldn't take so long. I would be grateful if someone could make battle animations for me. That would be a great help.

I believe FF 7 used the terms:
Thunder, Thunder II, and Thunder III.
FF 8 was the first to introduce the new vocabulary.
And the scripting on this must be mind blowing.
But it's been Thunder/ra/ga since Final Fantasy 1 in Japan. =)

Hey Joe thanks for the knowledge. I wonder if in japan FF7 was thunder/ra/ga and not bolt 1,2, and 3.

I want to replace it, I put all the commands, I even used FFD as a guide, but still no luck. Maybe another script is interfering? I will try again, and I'll make a screen shot. Thank you =)

Yes I know, but I did this on-purpose. I did it based on crisis core. Yes, the script is pretty cool! It was commissioned by victorsant.

I'll give it to you straight, and offer you some constructive criticism.
This project as it stands is DOA. Square Enix will be sending you a cease and desist letter as soon as it's anywhere close to release.
Here's what you should do instead.
Gather a small, dedicated team of game makers who have completed at least one game before, so you know that they have enough dedication, swear each other to secrecy, and work your asses off to finish thie project, and then have your whole team beta test the game yourselves, and then release it completely anonymously to every website that you can. Square Enix can stop you from making a game, but if it's already complete and on the internet, all they can do is try to stop websites from hosting it, and you know that that'd be impossible to do for every website out there.
Don't remake this because you want recognition for it. Do it because you want this game to exist.
I desperately hope that you take my advice, as I would looooooove for this project to complete itself. You would open the door to other game designers completing remakes like this.
Please Jin, Max, and Trihan, be an inspiration!
I doubt square enix will do anything... There is another FF7 project on here called Final Fantasy 2D remake, and more of them are out there. I am doing this game not to be noticed, I believe in-order to do that, you have to make original work. I am doing this cause I love 2D oppose to 3D, but thanks for the advice! I will release a really short demo soon!
