Use the code $scene = Scene_PartyManager.new in a Call Script to bring up the party selector window.

Use the code in a Call Script: $game_actors.available = true to add a character to the window who isn't already there.

Use the code $game_actors.mandatory = true to force a character to be in your party, so you can't remove them. (Like Cloud in Final Fantasy 7)


I tried it on my game and it WORKED! Thanks! I like the "Add Party Member" command script you suggested to me. It puts people into the standby party.

His Metroid game wasn't as good as you might think. Very, very incomplete.

It's possible with scripting, but so far there hasn't been a single platform script worth using. There are quite a few out there, but none of them are incredibly usable or complete.

I'm sort-of working on one with someone but that won't be getting finished any time soon.
Actually, I'm asking for how to make platform games from RPG maker.

I tested the PXMod program and it was a complete success. But there's an error in your quote above. It should be $game_actors.party.available = true. Anyway, thanks for your Ruby script and I can't wait to put it in my game.

I think it's more than that. The blaster doesn't work. I fire a shot at an enemy and nothing happens. I am somewhat searching for a way to solve it. The fact that it's a platformer is facinating, but that's more or less the only thing I seem to like about it.

Hmm, well, a simple solution that I generally see people use is to have an item turn on a switch. Have an autostart common event (Precondition being that the item switch is turned on), memorize your current map ID, X/Y values, then teleport you to a different map. In this different map, you have the characters there that you can add to the party, and an option to remove all of them except the hero. Then, another event to bring you back to the memorized position.
