Father of two who likes to make games. Constantly looking for resources to make good short games. Also like to try new ideas as long as it's not overly complicated.

Monster Hunters: Frost Giant

Hey!
I think you should check your audio files. I'm fighting skeleton dragons and the music is from regular audio, but I can hear a battle music in the background. I think they're overlapping. I don't know if that is what causing the RGSLL error, but it might.
Aside from that annoying error, I enjoy the game very much. For one I love regular side view battle system, for me it's the most comfortable battle system, since it gives me time to think and strategize my next move. Secondly, I love the difficulty, not too difficult, not too easy. I only have to grind in order to buy new equipment, but the money is not that difficult to obtain.
The Bandits Cave was a little frustrating, because of paralyzing effect. There should have been an accessory for sale to counteract paralysis, or the effect should of wore out after 2 or 3 turns.
Anyway, once again, I wish there were more games like this. Good job. I think you have a knock for making games. So, please, continue making more games.

Hey i want to know about that treasure behind the tree too.. i can't seem to find it. is there really some treasure or is that guy just making stuff up because he's drunk?? :P plz plz tell me. i need to buy the best equipment coz i have to fight the giant now. thanx in advance..
EDIT:: Never mind i finished the game!! it was really good!! is there a sequel to this? coz i would definately play it!! Totally awesome!!!
Ha! There is actually a hidden treasure behind a tree behind the bar. :) It's an invincible treasure chest.

I havn't really played much of these games before but I really love voice acting so i try my best to stay away from stories via just text but this game looks amazing so im going to play it I hope your still around whoever made this game because I will be subscribing and also hoping for new games that looks amazing coming from you
Thanks for the vote of confidence. You know what? I had the same idea about voice acting when I started out doing this. I've even gotten some software to try and narrate the voice for me but as you know, robot voices weren't cutting it. I wish I had time and budget for proper voice talents, that would be so awesome. English is not my main language, typing them with lots of grammer is one thing, reading them out loud with asian accent is another.... maybe only works for some ninja story. :)

imsoonchiong, if I were to play this, can you give me an educated estimate towards just how many hours this would take to complete, both with and without doing all the side quests.
About 2 hrs perhaps?

I wonder if there is something wrong with your computer or your VX ACE program.
After playing Book of Monsters and enjoying it so much,even with the RGSS errors that shut the game down, I loaded Helm of Fate and guess what :) still getting RGSS errors...that's why I wonder if there might be something wrong on your end.
Also, in Helm of Fate, the antidote is not working to get rid of the poison.HELP:)
I'm wondering the samething as well. I think it's due to the number of scripts that I just download and use. Since I'm no programmer, I'm not sure if all the different scripts that I use probably cause the problem. Also, apparently someone else had the same problem but there was no solution.

Well, limsoonchiong. I finally finished. Sure would like to see a sequel or at least more games by you and your friends :)
Did a lot of grinding but then that is how I finish most games :)

PS I wound up with a BUNCH of those Fire Lizzards...NO ONE was willing to buy them from me :(
Also, got that dreaded RGSLL...error a bunch of times. Game would have been even better if I did not have to go back and redo many of the level ups :)
I would love to do a sequel since there has been a few request. But again, time and effort is very high for I'm not a real programmer, hence a lot of bugs and can't seem to get rid of the RGSLL error. I pretty much copy and paste anything I can find from the internet regarding scripts. So I'm not surprise there is lot of bugs and error. Wish I could write a cleaner game so that people can enjoy it better.

Wow, thanks for the review. I admit it would have been a better game if I had more patience to test it more. This game's programming was a lot more complex then I'm normally comfortable with hence got confused a lot with the switches. So I kinda rush the end a bit. But no excuses, next time I'll make a better one. :)
