Project 4

Not sure if anyone will see this, but I'm playing this game and I've been wandering around the rainy town part of project 4 with the people with umbrellas for about half an hour now, and I can't seem to find where to go. I see a password mentioned above but I have no idea what that's about. Anyone there to help??

Whoops yeah, sorry I took so long to respond! There should be light posts in one of the houses, you have to hit them in the right order to get through.

Hi! Me and a friend of mine started to play project4, and we really enjoyed it! However, we got stuck in the beginning of the project4 area where you need to put a password, could you give a tip on how to get the password??
Look at how the sentences are worded in each of the bookshelves. The bookshelves are in the same order as the projects (look at the colored dots and the fencing up on the walls) and each have numbers in the text, put the numbers in the right order to get the code : D Thank you for playing!
Okay, I did that. I is not working. 00120 are numbers mentioned. I put them in order and even changed it a bunch of times. Nothing works.

011720, or some variation of 01/17/20

I've made it to the rainy town, but can't seem to get into the big building. I can't manage to get between the posts at the door. Is there a way to get rid of them or do I just suck?

There's puzzles inside the houses with flashing lamps, click on the lamps in the right order. Theres two of them in two different houses, one of them will open up a switch in the middle of the room you can click to get rid of the pillars : ) Thank you for playing so far!

I quit for the time-being after
failing the chase scene in Project II
, and I have sort of mixed feelings about the game so far.

Firstly, the music is really lovely. The main songs for Project I & II are very atmospheric.

Sound effects are used well, I think, e.g. the various scuffling noises, and the sound of Trost's feet on the metal grates.

Character portraits are beautiful, I really like the two colour palette & the simplicity yet personality of each drawing.

The maps have pretty nice graphics, particularly the glowing pipes and monitors.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this game was at least partly inspired by OFF and, by extension, HOME.

I took an instant liking to Gram, haha.

What I'm less impressed by is the combat. I think possibly enemies have slightly too much HP so that the battles drag on a little bit. Using Trost's skills gets repetitive. There's not really incentive to fight well because there's no MP or whatever to conserve, no special points to accumulate through the battle in order to use a special skill, or anything. However, I don't really mind not having to worry about MP/Sp/whatever else to use Trost's skills, so I'm not sure what the solution would be to make the battles more engaging. Sorry about that.

Overall though, I've so far found Project 4 to be enjoyable!

Minor errors:

- meadows is misspelled as "medows" twice in the prologue.
- warning sign near steam valves early on in Project 1, occur is misspelled as "occure".
- when the first three workers are talking about Ezra, one says "whose that?" referring to Trost, should be "who's".
- later in project 2, worker talking about going down the waterway says "nobodies been down there" etc. Should be "nobody's".
- glitch in conveyor belt room just after defeating Chase. Walking on belts on the left side reversed the walking speed; regular on belts, fast on normal ground. Walking back over the same conveyor belts reverted speed back to normal.

Thank you so much for the response!

I chose the music from a few independent artists around the web (with their permission of course) like Sinhakai, they have REALLY atmospheric and great for any game in general music, so it was a must to include them for most of the battle music aha.

And thank you again! This was my first time making the sort of pixel tiles so i was hoping they would be alright.

Haha yeah, OFF was one of the first sort of rpg style games I played, though it has sort of been a big ball from OFF, witches house, corps party, and some of my other friends stuff that influenced me to finally make my own game ^ ^

Thank you for the comments on the battle system too. I struggled with this aspect the most and I'm hoping to improve on that in my future productions. I was never fond of trying to use MP/etc. for special moves because I sort of sucked at it, but the idea of "special points to accumulate through the battle in order to use a special skill" will probably be something I'll remember for next time to make it more engaging haha.

also damn! There was a lot of glitches with the conveyor belts in the process, guess I didn't find them all haha.

Thank you so much again for commenting!

I really like the atmosphere that this game creates, and the background sounds/music really contributes well to this, but i think it would be much better without the footsteps sound effect. It got on my nerves after a little while, mixed with the slow walking and being unsure where to go. Couldn't finish it yet because of that :( but i hope to come back to it since the writing is well done and the plot seems intriguing from what I've seen so far.
