Cooking Mama 3!
I'd rather just cook for real. Chicks dig it.
I don't own a Wii (thank God) so I've never played any of the cooking mama games. I don't really see the apeal in games where you pretend to preform some practical skill without actually getting any of the benifits of actually learning that skill. I never got into Guitar Hero/Rock Band either for the same reason.

Republican National Convention
Me either. I see riots on the news and stuff, but they're never this close so it's kind of wild to see all this going down in a city I recognize and have been to a bajillion times.
Edit: Holy crap! They wouldn't let RATM play a concert at the capital so a bunch of people freaked out and some protesters were detenating home made bombs. This is insane!

Republican National Convention
The republican convention is going on in St. Paul. As I'm writing this a bunch of rich white people are talking (and aging), and a bunch of poor people are rioting about it. The rioters are all giving the police fake names and they're communicating on Twitter. The police are pepper spraying and gassing tons of people with ninja masks on. The ninja guys are just throwing a bunch of trash cans and stuff at the riot police. It looks like a sci-fi totalitarian police state. George Bush is speaking at the xcel center... Via satelite.
Puss.
Rage Against the Machine is going to play an impromptu concert somewhere in St. Paul, too. Is it just like a huge party there now or what? People are just walking around pissed and talking shit about America. I can do that. Maybe I can break a window if there are any left.
Oh my god. There are so many old people at the republican convention.
They were expecting a huge economic boom for St. Paul because of all the crowds at the xcel center, but because of all the rioting and the police presense nobody would even want to go there. They barricade off entire streets and kick people's asses if they "breach the security perimeter." They just had some kid on the news who was like "I was just walking home from school and I got tackled to the ground and handcuffed."
Then a commercial came on and it was like "Mineapolis and St. Paul: Not just nice- wicked nice."
lulz
I don't know, I thought I'd share this with you guysbut maybe I only care because I live like an hour away from St. Paul.

My Zelda Romance theory
Well, even on the very first Zelda for the NES you never even get a kiss or a bj or anything for rescuing Princess Zelda(which I thought was wicked lame). It's only slightly better than "Uh oh, your princess is in another castle!"
When you start any Zelda game the first thing you do is name your character, so even if they were all legendary heroes they're not the same person right? I don't know. I guess I always just played each game as a stand-alone universe, not really related to any other game in the series. It's simpler that way. :P
Interesting theory, though. Too bad nobody can just ask Shigeru Miyamoto.

Super Project Idea
If anyone wants to seriously do this would people like me who are new to the forums be counted out or could I get a whack at it too?
You could just invite everyone working on the project to one conversation on MSN. I mean, everybody in the world has MSN right?

I'm a relatively serious indie game developer. I've been spriting for years and coming up with game ideas ever since I was a little kid. I enjoy working on almost any aspect of the game creation process, which is why I'm currently working on three different games. They're all in the development stage but I'm already working on custom graphics for my first project and fleshing out different gameplay elements for all three. Maybe I'll post a thread to show my progress soon?
Thank you all for the warm welcome! I guess I'll see you around the forums.

Of the consoles you own, which is your favorite?
I love my PS3. It's a bit spendy, but if you use all it's extra features I think it's worth it. I put all my CDs and MP3s on it, and I have a hi-def big screen TV so Blu-Ray movies looks absolutely excellent on it. It's hard to say what would make you happiest, but if you're a hardcore gamer you've probably already counted out the Wii. Nintendo makes a lot of great games, but it's 3rd party developed games are sort of like the McDonald's dollar menu of gaming. I don't own an Xbox but I understand there are a lot of exclusive titles that people really like, such as Halo or Bioshock. The PS3 has it's share of good exclusive games in the pipeline as well, however, and one can't forget all the multi-platform releases either. I think this is a good time to be a gamer, and really any of the consoles are a good choice. It just comes down to what you would be happiest with, and like I said I can't tell you what that is. The PS3 and 360 both have excellent graphics, and fun games can be found for any console, so I would suggest you just get all three, ha ha.
