It depends on one's approach to making video games. If one approaches it as a business, then, yes, there's a mess of stuff to worry about, which includes risk management. If one approaches it as a hobby, maybe not so much. Probably.

We're glad to have you in our midst. What's risky to you? To me, even making a game as a hobby could be risky if you are neglecting family and/or work too much.

Welcome! If you're new to making games, definitely start it out as a hobby. If the games you make look great and you enjoy it a lot, think about going commercial! Good luck with your games!

I look forward to your games sevene! Don't worry about the past okay? I read what you wrote in the thinking about thread. What that person did to you in the past was awful. It was not your fault that they hurt them selfs like that, I highly doubt you were the only one they targeted as well.
You were just an easy target for them to project there own problems onto you.
And it was not your fault! People hurt them selfs some times, this happens. It was not your fault what they did okay? Your art and your creativity is important okay?
Only you can make what you make because only you feel what you feel.
I hope you understand this and make some cool games to share with other people!

I have never in my life seen nonsense like that before. I don't think anyone cares about their business; I wonder what they are saying but it's kind of hard to get a picture with English like that. An interesting troll post. Their English is to broken, it doesn't matter if you don't know English, no one talks like that.

Everyone that I've told this story too essentially just told me that it's a fucked up story.

I have never felt ripped off myself. I once ripped someone off but I didn't mean or want to, it was really fucking weird, and really screwed me up emotionally for awhile. I used to make music a lot, I wasn't really good but I enjoyed it. One day I got this fan. It was okay at first, but they started acting really strangely towards me.
Like really strange.
They began claiming my mother was a witch and was injecting magic into my music that was making people enjoy my music more then they should. It really scared me and I told them to stop and that they needed to get help. But they wouldn't. They would not leave me alone either, they stalked me on every single social media outlet I used. Eventually they started to claim I was a witch too and had cursed them some how with my music.
Soon after I found out he had killed him self.
I couldn't help but blame my self. I was just making art I had no intention of this happening. I don't understand what the hell even happened. My music fucking sucks, why did someone do this? I can't even bare to play piano anymore because of this. It just makes me think of them and I'm scared I would do the same to someone else if I ever started again.
