SIRMATTEI'S PROFILE

I am a beginner game programmer (litterally). I've start programming with Sphere nov.4th or 5th, 2010.
I've been using Javascript since oct.23 or 24 (can't quite remember) and I'm decent with it (web making with javascript), but a beginner still. hopefully with the help of other fellow sphere scripters, I just might be able to create my dream game, Enteral Eclipse. I'm also a man of classic RPG (of course). Last but not least I just want to throw out there that I am a guy who takes programming seriously, meaning that if I start making a game, dag nab it, I'll finish it!
oh, and if there are any sphere programmers who want to be apart of my game creation project, I'll gladly accept the help.

The Demo
author=SDHawkauthor=InfectionFilesIt has roughly the same advantages as programming a game from the ground up vs other makers, except with the advantage of being easier to do thanks to JavaScript and easier accessibility to the basic functions needed to make the game. It also has the drawbacks of still being waaaay harder to make stuff and as such first attempts like this will be an even bigger mess than most new maker games.
I know it's cool to be different.
But I'm curious as to what this game/engine has to offer that the RPGmakers don't.
I mean, there is a problem just opening the game.
It might be better to stick with one of the makers.
But I respect you trying something new.
Still! Good job getting this far I'm sure it was a lot of work, I'll check it out later.
Also for making distribution of your game easier you can take the Sphere distribution, replace everything in the startup directory with your own game and it will automatically start your game when engine.exe is ran. You can just zip that up and make it much easier on people unfamiliar with sphere.
I know I'm going to sound like a dunce here, but when you say replace everything in the start up directory do you mean EVERYTHING, because I don't want to end up deleting the only way to open it period, you know what I mean?

thanks, I just tought it'd be interesting to expand my computer language vocabulary (a little bit of c++ and now javascript) and apply it to making a game (demo).
also, I'm slightly new to the game creation community because whenever I make websites and such, I don't get all public about it, so this is (sadly) litteraly my first time uploading a game onto a site.
opening the game
author=Jerichoum...so what are you trying to say, that there IS another way of doing this?
this is sphere right. sphere is program. don't want to have to download a program that is a different program from the program.
I know there is but I don't know how to do it...plus I said IF your unable to open it, some people have been able to open it. the only reason why I have this blog up is because "one" of the downloaders couldn't open it.

it mostly just bugs me your graphics are all pretty small/the perspective is so distant, there's so much space on the screen wasted with repeated grass tile. furthermore, the 'camera' or player's view is centred on... nothing in particular. it would look a lot better if everything were a fair sight more compact.
ah,I see what you mean, I'll keep that in mind when updating it. I'll probably add more trees, rocks and stuff like that on the second go. does that sound good? also it is centered on the character but not 100% focused on him, meaning that as long as he moves three lines away from the center, the camera will follow.

Best name for game EVER!!!
thanks, I just thought the best name for the game would be the most plainly put out (in this case...).
also, if there's anything you think I should add/fix, please tell me.

The downloads tab is saying you have no downloads available, so I am guessing that the download hasn't been accepted by a member of staff yet. Even though the download button is there, you need to wait for a member of staff to approve the download before it becomes available.
(Annoying, isn't it?)
thanks for telling me, its my first game upload and yes it is annoying.
I geuss now that it IS avaliable, theres no need for the blog(I edited it to something different).
